Werewolf 2 Lurker Thread: Spoilers!

Personally, I don't think he is as I don't think he'd be so blatant about it if he was reading here. At the same time, it's this kind of concern that made me ask awhile back that the WW3 lurker thread be limited to discussion only and be free of spoilers (or as best as possible). It'd be nice if it didn't even have to have it cross our minds that it might be happening, because in that scenario, it wouldn't even be possible.

Coincidences happen. Besides with all the pms going on, who knows who said what to who.

I think Gasper guessed that Irgy was a ww due to the fact that he tried to get me mod-killed, he is too postive, he does not post much and he never fast-reacts to anything. Now that I know that the wolfs did not know that there was 3 of them Rowain may not be a wolf. Irgy and Serdoa are wolfs due to this thread. I really think that Rowain is a wolf still... He shares the same issues with Irgy but he did not try and get me mod-killed. However, he was not sad about my death at all and he trys to make the village not trust itself. Also, he respected me by quoting me about the godfather role. If he was a villager he would not respect me and not quote me. I think he is a wolf trying to build a case of a godfather who he knows is wrong because he is a wolf...lol But I was right. lol

Do the wolfs have to night kill? Assume the villagers kill a wolf and tratior the last night will have 3 villagers and a wolf. If the wolf does not night kill or does night kill he only needs to face one more lych. The wolf may not want to night kill because on the villagers last lych they have more targets to choose wrong.

In spoiler tags just in case.

If Gaspar is cheating like you imply (no point in sugarcoating it), why would he go out of his way to incriminate himself in the game thread? It's not like he is using the information he has learned here as very direct support for his arguments. He could easily build an argument for Serdoa's innocence without painting him as a possessed. No matter how you spin it, swinging the vote at the last minute towards lynching a wolf is hardly the most incriminating of actions.

Possible cheating aside, it really seems like the villagers have a much better handle on things now, and a villager victory seems quite likely to me now. For all we know, your own (illegal) hinting in the game thread by re-emphasizing the owl mechanics after you were dead may have contributed heavily to that.

Sigh.
I ignored your last post on this issue because i was annoyed with the game and it should have been obvious, but since you've brought it up again, i'll address it. I hinted at nothing. I clarified on a game mechanic question which the moderator had inadvertently mis-explained. F&I has since apologised to me for the mix up as i did request and receive clarification after receiving my initial role PM.

I think that perhaps there was a bit of a language barrier or true meaning of words were lost when converting to text but we've since discussed it. I apologised to him for being rude and he apologised to me for not being clear. He's aware of my post and has no issues with it.

It would have been better if he had posted it because the players were making assumptions on game mechanics that were incorrect. As he didn't, i included it in my last post. I posted a good bye and thanks for the game message and clarified the mechanics question. That's it. None of which was illegal, but cheers for casting that out there once again.

As for Gaspar, i think i wasn't quite clear. I'm not accusing him of reading the lurker thread. I actually think it's far more likely that someone has inadvertently given the game away to him. It's easily done when chatting to others from this community but outside the WW game. Something Gaspar does a lot of. I posted this with the intention of backing up Scooter's previous post. I think that, despite being a lurker thread, these should remain spoiler free. That prevents anything accidentally being leaked.

TL;DR: I agree with both Scooter and Bruindane above and Zakalwe get off my back. Ta.

EDIT: spoiler tagged.

Further to the above post, i have re-read my initial post and it is far more accusatory than initially intended. I still think it's likely that someone has inadvertently dropped hints or something into conversation, but either way i apologise to Gaspar. I didn't mean for it to read quite like it's come out.

Alright, it just seemed like you didn't think it was a coincidence, so I felt it was appropriate to reply "in kind", given that the person you accused isn't even here to defend himself. But seeing your clarification, and the fact that you are willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, I will give you the same benefit. smile

In my first post on the subject of your owl clarification I did ask if you had cleared your post with fire&ice; if you had simply replied "yes" to that I wouldn't have brought it up again.

I think if the village mislyches F&I should not end the game. The traitor has show he can make major errors. He might not think of voting for himself and be forced to guess who the last werewolf is.

Wow, I come here and there's much more heated arguments than in the game thread. A traitor, I love it. And a cheating accusation that I'll have to step back some pages to understand.

So the only person who supported me yesterday was on my side anyway and I didn't know it. Does anyone care to tell me where I managed to screw up quite so completely? MNG was right, but it doesn't change the fact that he was basically just posting crap. I made my votes the previous day following my "act like a villager" plan in complete purity, and yet still get lynched for "acting like a wolf". The real trouble I think was that no-one else was posting anything and there wasn't an alternative. Boy did I mean it when I agreed that I'd like someone, anyone else to post something.

I thought I was safe with the whole owl debacle. Maybe the whole village is communicating by PM now and I just never had a hope.

MJW: I don't recall trying to get you mod killed. In any case, every post I made with regard to getting you or not getting you mod killed was completely independent of my role in the game. I go to great lengths to keep my opinions on technical matters seprate from my in-game actions. See my willingness to conceed my own death just now for an example.

Kyan: For what it's worth, I never considered your owl-clarification post out of line. I wouldn't have wanted to win the game based solely on a rules misunderstanding anyway.

Really looking forward to seeing how the last few days pan out.

Irgy - I guess part of the reason you got caught is simple elimination; there are now many players who seem very likely to be villagers for various reasons. For the wolves, losing a wolf or two may not be a disaster in itself, but when a wolf gets lynched as a result of a close vote it may have the unfortunate side effect of introducing new trusted innocents as well.
