They built a culture building here. Not a bad thing, but I wonder if it slowed down settling more cities? Was it worth it? I would have used two cities I think to cover the area that they covered with one.

GS in 6 turns. Math in 3.

I think I might wardec Azza and offer peace to get another 10t enforced peace and make it clear I do not want war. What are people's opinions of this? How would Azza view it? Aggressive? Passive? Sacred? Peaceful?

I forgot to mention that Azza popped borders next to us. frown In the long run we can run a few artists and win the culture war, but for now we're going to need to be prepared. I have an archer headed to the front lines.

It also appears Azza just settled a city and caught up to us. I'll see if I can see it when I log in next turn.

Do you think Azza will take a declaration of war as a peaceful move?

would you? Might be worth the risk, as long as we're ok if he won't sign the peace deal.

im going to laugh if he tries to snipe the "C" spot, that will guarantee a war between us :/

Almost nothing of import at all happened this turn. I couldn't see Azza's city. No barbs. Our cities grew. We gained 5 commerce from new cottages and 1 cottage growth into our first hamlet.

Really all you need to see are these demos:

Azza's city is probably south by the Gold. Nakor and Jester have a new city, I hope they survive.

I like that Azza has a spear down there. That's a more defensive unit. I'm hoping that indicates he's not coming after us.

I think I will 2 pop whip the granary in Bacon! next turn. Then with a chop regrow on barracks and whip that. The granary is just too powerful not to build first even though we desperately need culture down there.

Meanwhile horses hooked up.

GNP is at 69 and is actually tied for 1st now.

Turn 75. In a long big game like this I think this turn is still pretty early. And yet, I think we're at the forefront.

Let's talk about the north:

There's a barb spear over there that I've left alone for now. It's not bother since the woody axe can outrun and outkill it.

I have 1 worker in the area. Next turn I'm having it go back and chop the forest that has already started chopping. That chop will go into a worker in Bacon. Bacon will grow this turn into unhappiness with a whip unhappy that wears off in 3 turns. The worker should take 4 turns with the chop. Then we'll start a settler that we'll whip and it will go to site C. We will need to farm the rice and cottage a grassland for the ivory city to work.

bacon will grow in 3t onto the PHmine and will keep pumping military.

Southern half:

So I decided, fine, I need culture in Bacon!. The chop goes into a Barracks and we'll whip it next turn. Then we'll overflow and slowbuild a granary that we might finish with a chop once the borders have popped.

BACON is going to finish its Spear then put 1t into an archer to grow to 7 (into unhappiness) then it will start a settler. I made one mistake this turn (only a mistake because I changed the micro plan after I had played) in that I cottaged the riverplains with the free worker instead of moving onto the forest to chop it into the settler. Now I will waste one turn to get two workers onto that tile in order get the chop one turn earlier so that I can whip BACON 1T earlier. Its not a big deal and I could save the worker turn by letting the chop finish a turn later, but that delays the settler a turn and delays the ivory hook up a turn and delays the growth f the new city a turn, blah blah blah. 2 workers chop.

In BAcon we're just growing cottages. No worries. Possibly whip the Granary, but I think a chop + 2 pop Worker whip would be better actually. With the horses we should be able to get 30H naturally and 30H from the chop to finish the granary.

Did anyone notice tech? 9 turns to currency baby. 3 turns to the Academy so maybe faster. Though we will need to whip the cap so that could slow it back down. Just FYI, CoL is cheaper than currency. HBR is 5t and IW is 4T.

However we're not the current GNP leaders!

Since Bacon's borders popped we're back up to 3rd place in land. However the land leader may be a city ahead. Ivory city should be settled t81 and I hope to settle C before t90 as well. I might build a WB in bacon after the current axe.

Food we're tops even with 2 citizens running scientists.

Population 2nd

Military 6? That's good as well for scaring Azza off a bit. I don't want him to get scared and build an army, but I also don't want him thinking he can take advantage. It's a tight line. The chariot kill actually helped a lot in terms of setting him back militarily.

hmm, pretty.

I'm so glad we decided not to go all out military and try to fight Azza too early, peace has worked out great for us.

the ivory city is 1w of the ivory, no? so it can't work the rice. only the ivory, copper, and the 2 grassland spots with no jungle, until we have iron working. or did you move the city? smile

Yeah it's next to the ivory. We will need to farm a few of those grasslands (the one with a forest that we'll chop in particular) for the city to grow, but it is okay for it to grow slowly. We won't whip it too much and it can grow large enough on cottages to then work the copper and the ivory once we have IW. The ivory is the biggest thing. We can camp that even with the jungle. Additionally that site allows us to plant 2 more cities in the jungle that we wouldn't be able to plant otherwise.

WELP! Scoopin wardecced Nakor. I believe Nakor will die. Scoopin's power is very very high, might be #1 in the world. We're 5th now and they are way above us... Nakor is below us. Bigger what was that about me not having to worry about them getting absorbed too early? Scoopin are playing a great game. Their cities are grabbing all the resources and they are along rivers. In addition they are FIN and ORG. IMO if Nakor can't slow them down they will be the worldwide leaders. We really need Commodore to settle towards the and put some pressure on them. We can't afford to do it.

I changed the axe to a WB in bacon this turn. Why? So that we don't complete the axe and look even more scary to Azza. The axe is 1t away so we can complete it at any time later. Azza's power is still well below us. Bacon! whipped the barracks. Other than that things are going swimmingly. We're back to #1 GNP even with the whip. Second in crop by 2 food. 15th in MFG lol. Azza's MFG is through the roof. It is a little scary, but that also means he's not working more cottages. That's important. The earlier you grow them the better your present and future economy is.
