Ah, I realize that any replacement might be a little spoiled, and I'm sure Gavagai would try his best to not be influenced, but he's *extremely* spoiled, perhaps the most spoiled imaginable. Pinch hitting for a couple turns in December would be okay with me but if we can find someone else for a full replacement I'd prefer that.

Um, Gav, when was the last time you read my thread? I've been pretty explicit about my plans, capabilities, and weaknesses, and I wouldn't be comfortable with someone turning around and playing an opponent's turns with all that info.

My comment will be in thread
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. ![[Image: noidea.gif]](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/noidea.gif) In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

That's disappointing, but understandable. I suspect the odds of an unspoiled replacement are essentially nil. But actually, I am probably going to bow out regardless of whether we can find a replacement. I've tried to stick it out, but have wanted to do this for ages, and I guess I am now. I have not been enjoying this game for a long time. But my real life is also now going through a rough patch and I can't justify spending days on something that is actively making me feel worse. Sorry. If you think "that sounds like a You Problem," I agree; I do not intend to join another RB game as the primary turnplayer for a long time, and for a few reasons, but mostly to avoid putting myself or others in this position again.
Someone privately pointed out to me that as there are only two contenders, that concession may also be an option. If you guys share that view, I am happy to call it a draw, or to concede and end with a Naufragar victory. I believe that Naufragar is favoured currently, although it is close, and in truth it depends more on the other three players than ourselves. Either way, Nauf certainly wins the morale grind, and maybe that's more important. To the other three players, if you are still having fun, I apologise. If you want to play it out, and can find a replacement, I hope you all have fun. Otherwise, congratulations Naufragar, on your first PB win. I've said a few times before that you deserved one.
This was a very interesting game, thank you to everyone who took part in it.

I'm happy to draw you, Amica. I can't in good conscience except your concession when I think you're in the lead.
I was thinking the other day that you've got one of the best win percentages of any player on the site, and any game is elevated by your participation. I'm glad you got to play in this one. I'm sorry that the enjoyment you gave to others dwarfed the fun you were having yourself.
Perhaps it's premature but good game, everyone. I think the plot of this game was the most interesting I've seen in a while, even if I'm biased. I'll try to write a post mortem when I'm home from work. A theme will be how everyone had awesome, jaw-dropping moments.
And lastly, and again, thanks for playing, Amica. You gave your fellow players and the lurkers real joy. I hope that is a silver lining on an otherwise downer experience.

If the 8player pitboss I’m trying to put together doesn’t find players to fire, I’m happy to launch this same format again with the same crew + replacement for Amica
Although perhaps some more lurker map rerolling would be preferable this time around. CtH might make all leaders and civs viable but geographical determinism was alive as ever this game.
