The stone-hoarding strategy:

Kylearan says I just ended the game in Stone Age? I thought the game ended after one hut stack *begins* the round empty.
And so it did end after sooooo just played his turn. Well okay, I did still win, and by a margin of more than Kylearan's missing hut. And yes, if there's another game, that starvation strategy has got to go away.
There was supposed to be a feeding phase and I'm not quite sure what happened. I had 10 meeples, 3 farms, 6 food, and no resources... the last resource to feed was going to come from the "market" card that Kylearan was going to buy. I never got a prompt to spend that resource on feeding so I'm not sure if it happened.

Yeah, sooooo mentioned in a previous game that the market card resource selection seems to be omitted at the end of the game for players who already played before. Maybe the feeding phase gets omitted as well? That seems to be a bug.
Anyway, congrats T-hawk! Even though the no-feeding strategy seems to be overpowered, you also executed it very well. But you also benefitted from some poor play on our part. As soon as it becomes clear someone doesn't feed, the other players have to deny the no-feeder some cards/spots which hasn't happened here. For example, rego should have taken the double shaman card (which would have made sense for him anyway), denying you 20 points. So I wonder how the no-feeding strategy works out in a group of experienced Stone Age players who know both the game and the strategy better than we do.
After 3 games of Stone Age (one 3-player, two 4-player), I agree that it's more fun with 3 than with 4 players, even though I like that there's more competition for the limited spots with 4 players.

Well played T-Hawk. Oh, and thanks Amelia and Kylearan for our T&T game. What next?

I'm out for a while (and most probably a long while, say a month). Too much assignments to do.

Whatever happened with the last feeding phase was very weird. I had 6 food... and looking at the replay, at the end of the game I have *9* food! It must have added my 3 farms to that. We can't tell if Kylearan or sooooo got a feeding phase (both had 5 meeples and 5 farms so no change.) But regoarrarr did because his food changes from 5 to 0 on the last step of the replay. But I never had a feeding phase since it did not deduct the 9 food nor -10 points either. Strange. Looks like regoarrarr and I never got Kylearan's market card either.
Yeah 3 players might be the sweet spot. 4 is really bad for the fourth player, too long until he gets any farms. 2 players is too much about blocking, since a point blocked is as good as a point scored. I think Speicherstadt works best likewise with 3.
Any chance of a live session for a game or two this Sunday? Whichever three of us can do so? I should be home and online all day. I definitely want to play a "normal" game of Stone Age where we just agree not to intentionally starve.

Of course I suggested it and now I have to blow it up. I forgot about a commitment on Sunday, which will probably keep me out for most of the afternoon my time and evening Euro time.
We could start an offline-PBEM game of Stone Age and play it out whenever we are all online together, should we do that? Maybe a second game too, Speicherstadt or Carcassonne or something else?

I'm up for almost anything: Stone Age, Egizia, Speicherstadt, something entirely new...only in Carcassonne I'm not interested in (I like the original better).
