[SPOILERS] Pindicator promises brighter days ahead

More vision reveals basically 12 2movers of WCs in the middle:

I think we need to move the Byblos stack to 1W of Giesenberger to avoid getting it wiped by 12 WCs. Only 3 knights and 2 HAs there. I will put 1 HA in Giesenberger as well so that he can't take the city with the Xbow. His Big WC stack is still one tile short of the city. Next turn we get a pike in there as well.

I can get some knights loaded onto boats this turn. I saw his capital it has 3 LBs in it.

I can get 4 healthy knights on to 2 galleys this turn, but we still need a few more... maybe I'll bring our 2 maces over or a  mace and a CKN.

OKay I can get 1 mace, 1 CKN, 1 HA and 4 knights onto galleys this turn. They can land next to his capital next turn. It's going to cost us 2 happiness in Thebes, but no starvation this turn. Since I won't use the HA to reinforce Giesberger I need to reinforce it with Thebes spear. I think thats worth it for 7 units next to his first island city next turn.

Do we want to go this route?

I fat fingered the lurker thread on my phone. Didn't see anything.

I was hoping the turn would roll overnight. The weekend would be a good time for us to chat and play the turn together.

Sadly extending the turn timer can do nothing against the one person who just flat out forgets / chooses not to play

Turn 156

So NotGav exposed a mistake last turn

I'll let Lewwyn explain:

Lewwyn Wrote:so he did it like this
he use the injured xbow to hurt one spear
he withdrew froma % battle with the other spear
and then he use his last in range WC to beat the less injured spear at 60% odds
then used his injured HA to get the last spear
he didn't have any other units that could reach the city

Also, that smite whip in Thebes by NotGav. Maybe a little petty, no?

That was what he used to kill the 2 spears at Geisen ... Geisel? ... the city we had planted on Commodore's border. And then he used his GG on a War Chariot to move the 5 roaded tiles to unguarded Thebes. Now is where I was trying to bite my tongue about told-you-so's with certain settler and unit choices, so I'll just say again what I said in chat: It's done, what do we do now?

The boats were unloaded into Giza: knights came east and we ended up making NotGav pay for his victory a little. Our first knight lost against his Elephant at 65% odds, because we've been losing a lot of those 60% battles lately. But the next group of knights managed to destroy all but 1 of those war chariots. Following that up a knight again lost against his CKN (this time at 70%) but we won a number of coin flip battles after that. Our thinking is that trading units is fine for us now. We just take a little more time to make sure NotGav can't do anything on the mainland - and he has exhausted almost all of his 2-movers in this last movement. So! While this was bad it doesn't come without its own silver lining.

I would also say that we aren't quite trading units as we killed all the units he used to take geisenberger, and then also wiped his GG and 7 more chariots + the 3 xbows. A little better than a trade. Notgav only has 1 2 mover left on the mainland. So we may have lost a couple Knights at good odds but we've pulled the teeth.

Notgav has completely retreated into Byblos. I think I'm going to load all the boats now. 2 mace, 2 CKN, 2 swords, 1Ele, 3 knight(1 full, 2 9.6 health). They can land next turn and so 2t we'll have his first island.

Philo next? or do we want to abandon the Lib run in favor of military tech to take out TBS?

TBS has nationalism, so he can easily get Gunpowder and MilTrad for curisserrs. That would make stopping him harder.

Lib run might be the best way to get mil tech to take him out though.

Here's his second island:

But more importantly:

That's a lot of open land. That's a barb city down there.

Plako's power is just a little bit higher than NotGavs. Just saying.

Lucky that road goes the other way.

Lots of razed cities.
