Werewolf 2 Lurker Thread: Spoilers!

MJW (ya that one) Wrote:It would be extremely aggersive to point out to the mod if you where a villager that a power-role on your team broke the rules. 90% of players would not do it. See Kyan post about I should have been mod-killed. So I think Gasper was re-reading the thread and guessed that you where a werewolf from you doing that. The information about what happened is on pages 16-19.

Well I'm telling you I'm one of that other 10%, whether you believe it or not. I was actually as surprised as anyone else when you were mod-blocked. I was the first to suggest second guessing and targetting you that night, and was very pleased for a short while when I thought we'd got it right. I was extremely disappointed, to say the least, to discover that we hadn't second guessed you at all. To this day I don't actually think you should have been mod-blocked at all. Either for editing posts or posting contents of your role PM. Neither were explicitly disallowed anywhere in any rules I could find. My whole point was purely that those things should have been in the rules, and your actions were just an example of why.

Whether Gaspar drew the conclusion you mention though is an entirely separate issue, and something only Gaspar can tell us later. I actually considered whether what I posted would get interepreted as an attempt to mod-kill you and get me lynched, but I decided that for the same reasons I would still post it as a villager I still had to take that risk and post it as a wolf.

If something like this happens in ww4 I will track down this post to help you no matter what. smile

Yeah, that was a pretty weird turn. I think it was metagame. Roland's tone became very frustrated and unfriendly, especially the voting for himself bit. It sounded as if the village just wanted him to shut up and not hear from him anymore, more than they cared about actually finding a werewolf. They figured (for right or wrong) that even if he was innocent, he wasn't helping the group.

Yeah the village lynching Roland with such a huge majority was a complete smoke move that I've still yet to understand the logic behind.

I think it's a good example of how emotions can mislead people's better judgement. People might have been annoyed at him for being wrong about the Meiz and Ug votes, or the false claim to be a seer, or just for writing so many really long posts that people got tired of reading them. Lewwyn's post accusing him had no solid proof at all, and there was much more reason to go after scooter at that point, but I think people let their emotions interfere with their thinking.

Just thought I'd share this PM that Gaspar sent to Lewwyn, MNG and myself the night I was eaten

Gaspar Wrote:I don't have an interest in playing the game in PMs, but this is my best approximation of who is definitely a villager at this point, and I want to say this to some overwhelmingly likely-to-be legit folks before anything gets too crazy, and also before anyone dies tonight, so in case you guys have a trusted network of some sort, you can think about folding whomever in.

I'd say, with about 90% confidence, that our remaining two wolves are Rowain and Irgy. A vote this close - its way too risky to vote on the wrong side of it. Only this vote has cleared Serdoa in my mind, and I'm still not sure he doesn't have some sort of secret anti-village role, like godfather or town contrarian or something. That's irrelevant. The bottom line is, MNG was dead. There was nothing anyone had to do to make it happen, and there was plenty of cover. As people moved off, it left the remainder pretty obvious, to me at least. This was what we've needed all game, a close vote with a wolf on the chopping block, but no scry involved. And we hadn't had it yet.

I think we should pile on Irgy tomorrow, since Rowain is painfully obviously a wolf at this point. That lets us see what we can see about who, if anyone, moves to defend him. If we don't like the smell, we can always switch to Rowain. But if his defense comes primarily from himself, Rowain, and/or Serdoa, then we know we are right. (Hence I'm saying I still wouldn't tell Serdoa.)

If you think I'm a schmuck or a wolf or something, that's ok too. But I have no allies, no trusted network, so I felt like I needed to get this out there before the eating tonight, in case I'm somehow unlucky, or one of you are

There were a few more PM's shared between us that day but it was mostly just speculation

lol
Gasper: Serdoa, Rowain and Hapazard
Rowain: Gasper, Mr. Nice Guy

Hapazard misvotes and throws the game away.

Last day:
Serdoa: Serdoa, Rowain
Rowain: ???

I think people who don't read the thread aggersively like hapazard should be mod-killed. It is pretty clear that Rowain is a werewolf. But hapazard will not see it. This is really not fair to the village. lol lol

Yeah ok. So day 8 was basically a farce, I was doomed from the outset. Explains how that day panned out anyway, feel a bit better about it now. That's exactly what I hate about outside contact, the game thread is a joke, the whole game happens outside of it. I spend an entire day stressing over whether to post and what to say, but it was just a waste of my time.

Basically, Serdoa's late switch really completely screwed us, which is particularly ironic if he was on our side.

MJW: What on earth do you mean not fair for the village? As far as I read it that's exactly the way the game is supposed to work. It won't happen anyway, haphazard surely has PMs from Gaspar that pushed him into his vote earlier and will determine the next one.

I guess we will see what hapazard will do the next day...
