Right now the power ranking is:
Commodore
retep
Gavagai
Joey and us
Since we are 6th, I would guess that HAK is the other player above us, as he usually puts up a good defense.
Also, Commodore and retep are currently at war against Grimace, who doesn't appear long for this world (that's what you get when you name one of your cities Winger, dude ![lol lol](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/lol.gif) ). Commodore is up to 15 cities now after taking two from Grimace, and I thought I saw retep take one on CivStats but haven't verified yet.
With retep and Gavagai distracted, I think either of them would make the best targets. I'd really like to take the northern part of the island. And I am fine with leaving Joey alone, but I still don't want to get the short end of a mutual war against Elkad. Speaking of which, our peace treaty with the Dutch ends in 2 turns.
Re: workers, remember a bit back when they had nothing to do? It was only about 10 turns ago. Now with MC and Calendar they have work again but not for long. All that's really left is to spam some more Workshops and figure out how to best optimize Frontenac and Chesapeake. All of the other cities are either worked beyond the population or nearly maxed out, save a tile or two. That is another reason why working the coastal tiles came in handy -- it allowed us to grow without having to devote more production to workers.

I think Retep's empire fits better with ours. If we were to take more than 4 cities off Gavagai India would be closer to RL Chile. Retep's island cities and a few of those NW of NF would be perfect.

Pretty much in agreement on retep.
Not much to report this turn, except that Commodore offered OB. I refused for now but do we want to offer it back? I know that it is a prisoner's dilemma, but we could use the gold to stay ahead of our rivals. Only Gavagai and retep have an OB agreement right now.

I wouldn't mind OBing Gavagai (or is it Retep with alphabet ?). Commodore is winning this already, if people start OBing to him there's no point in playing. He probably offered it to everybody hoping for one or two to accept, I hope no one will.
Fake edit : actually I might agree for some gpt.

Retep is the one with Alphabet, so I don't think we should go the OB route there. We can actually research AB ourselves pretty quickly and OB Joey and Gav possibly. What amount of gpt should we ask from Commodore? I was thinking 6-10.
Also, we can make a Gems for Silks trade to Elkad, though we really don't need the extra happies yet. I think I'd like to not poke at that hive again until we have Maces and either Knights/Pikes though.

How many cities do we have ? Half that number would be ok I suppose, they'd get more or less 1c for each of our cities so more would really be too much. I doubt they'll take it but why not try ?

Turn 125 - 250 AD
We have 11 to Commodore's 17 now (4 new ones from Grimace, none of those to retep, Winger still exists...). I offered OB form 5gpt but I also backed it up with a straight up OB agreement if he refuses. Joey and Elkad took the bait and signed up so why not?
Speaking of Joey and Elkad, Joey just declared war on him this turn, so the 7 whips just initiated by Elkad should not be directed at us. I expect Elkad to offer us a peace treaty this turn, but I am not sure that we should accept. I am hoping that Elkad moves whatever garrisons he has in Rotterdam so we can go for it. I am also not against declaring on Joey if he takes the Hague, so we will just have to watch this one closely. We'd want to wait until we see successes in his campaign that drive him deeper into Dutch territiory though.
Long story short, stay out of it for now but be ready to be opportunist. We can likely get the Hague via Creole or Rotterdam, with a possible prize of getting the Pyramids via Apache Hunters. Next turn I will offer Gems for Silks to hopefully mask our intentions, but I think Elkad will see through that unless we are locked into peace for 10 turns.

Sounds good
Well Commodore gaining cities doesn't sound that good but what can we do...

Turn 126 - 275 AD
As expected, Elkad declared war with us and then offered peace. I had brought our sentry horse up to the area to find the same scenario in Rotterdam as we did before: one Spear defending and one on the nearby hill. You can bet the same stack as before is waiting in the shadows as well.
The city that Joey captured was on the island between our continent and Commodore's, which tells me that if we stay in this war Elkad will still vigorously defend Rotterdam against us. So my failure to learn from our last battle would only play into Joey's hands, as I have stated earlier.
So after much deliberation I decided to return Elkad's peace offer in the hopes that he will deploy and lose most of the Rotterdam stack against Joey so that they won't make it back west in 10 turns. This also means we make Joey work harder for further conquest, which will stregthen our position against both of them since we won't be losing units. Also, I am pretty sure that Joey will be pissed at us. Oh well.
In the meantime, we get Machinery in 2 turns (OB with Commodore really helped us out!). Followed by 3 turns for CoL and 5-8 turns for CS. I may go heavy on Wealth in order to get CS closer to 5 turns, and then use a few turns at 0% research to upgrade Axes to Maces to make up for the lack of production. Then we can go into Bureaucracy/Caste and to boost our capital and Workshops. So within 12-15 turns, we will have a pretty powerful army, a few Courthouses and all cities over 15 production.
It should be noted that we are the only team that is not at war (except for perhaps HAK, competing with us for 3rd place right now). So if we can make it through this peacetime without someone getting jealous and derailing our plans, we will come out of it much stronger ready to engage the enemy of our choosing. Should be fun!

Which offer did Commodore accept ?
Do you have a GA planned in the near future ? Would make the switch less costly
