Aw, guys, we have setup drama. Don't say we never lost anything with the old guard's passing.

I will take a ride with you guys if you don't mind .
Don't expect lots of commitment/contribution from me though, this is mostly just to be able to speak freely here.

So while we wait and enjoy the fireworks that happen when the infinitely offensive (Jowy) meets the eternally offended (Noble), let's punch out a quick list.
Neighbors we'd like, from best to worst:
1. Ruff_Hi & civ2ac -Ruff is capable of turning out a good game. Unfortunately for his play, he's more interested in finding bugs, setting little challenges, and investigating esoteric topics than he is in optimizing victory. Definitely can eat.
2. Jowy- Rusty, offensive, and weirdly cautious, Jowy has shown himself to be a fine economist but a hopeless general. Definitely can eat.
3. AT -AT isn't a bad player by any means but he signs up for too many games and doesn't attend to them closely...see his hilarious recent spate of posting game updates in the wrong game thread. -Definitely can eat.
4. Amicalola & Miguelito & Mjmd -I really like these players as people, but they're all fairly new. Newbies are potentially toddlers with handguns, but I feel pretty confident in being able to out-tech and then out maneuver this crew, with the newest as the head player. Probably can eat.
5. Lewwyn & Gaspar & Noble & Brick -Old and rusty, emotional, and prone to easy offense, I'm not sure this group can keep together well enough to last the whole game. If they do, though, they are a bunch of really excellent old hands who used to be pretty good at Civilization 4. Probably indigestible.
6. Superdeath -Murder-suicide king. At least it's resolved fast?
7. Gavagai -There is no victory. There is no death. There is only a long, dull cold war where nobody profits and nobody escapes.

So in the end:
Quote:1. Jowy - Wang Kon / Native America
2. Commodore/Pindicator - Saladin / Celts
3. Superdeath - Mao / Carthage
4. Ruff Hi / civac2 - Victoria of Rome
5. Gavagai - Sury of Egypt
6. Amicalola - Hannibal / India
7. AutomatedTeller - Charlemagne / France
8. Gaspar/Lewwyn/AndFriends - Pacal of Khmer
Are we the only ones not taking this thing seriously?

Need to see the game live. I'd post our planning chats, but it's been fairly dry:
Commodore: "Least-time GLH thusly..."
Pindicator and Hitru: "And here in sane world: SNOWBALLS, PRETTY GOOD!"
Commodore: "Yeah, yeah."
As one of the very few teams without early production boosts, we're going to be having to focus pretty hard on the early expansion phase to keep up. Pro will enable us to keep the economy running beyond some, but that's not a reason to neglect the wise path of riverside cottages and well-planned granary whips. And I almost put myself to sleep just typing that out.

I'm still perfecting my pitch for us to build ToA just for the great people points: 60% shrine, 40% currency bulb. Who needs a lighthouse?
