[Spoiler] Returning to Randomness: Thoth plays a happy, hippie builder game

Yuris blocked me from moving to see his capital tile, so I moved the scout on.

And popped my second tech from a hut. smug

Also of note: Yuris either teched Hunting/Archery or popped one or both from huts.

My northern scouting warrior has popped two huts for 5 xp each, HE now unlocked.

And Commodore's scout gets a front row seat to see my first expansion city:

It's awful.  2nd ring Fish that I can't net until I settle another city to build the workboat.  But it locks down my border quite nicely and my next settler won't be very long (4t for another worker, 6 t to grow to size 3 while building 2 archrs,  and 4-5 turns to build the settler with a chop or two.).

Mr Double-Gold-In-His-Capital got the free Cover for melee units event and has been working an improved Gold (plus non-wet Corn) for a few turns now.

I may need to builder me a few happy axes.

t50 picture dump:

Random Killing:

3 turns away from growing into a PH mine for 16 hammers per turn at +3 food per turn
Worker-->settler next, unless Worker-->worker

Filthy Radicals:  Just whipped out a worker (#3)
Fish get netted next turn,  then swap back to spearman to prevent hammer decay until chop comes in on t53 which will finish the granary.  Might chop the Oracle out here if it's still available.  Good spot to produce Colossus but it's my bastion against Yuris so might not be wise to build it here.

DaygoAbortions:  Just finished having a pair of workboats chopped out while borrowing the copper.  Gran gets chopped next, then grow to 4 or 5 on an axe followed by a settler whip.

I want to grab the stone/rice city and the fish/marble city next.  Likely in reverse order.

South:

North:

Monarchy, Iron Working, and Calendar are key econ techs for me here.  Colossus plays well with some coast and little apparent urgency for Astronomy.

Both Marble and Stone make wonders more attractive.  Great Lib and the Epics are cheap with marble.  A Great Lib fueled bulb up Liberalism for early Gunpowder?  No horses means Guilds is less attractive than usual.

We shall see.  smile

Just got what might be the most overpowered event in the game:

+1 commerce on my Oasis tile.  Dance

Commodore Oracled Monarchy a few turns ago and someone has teched HBR already. I suspect it's Yuris and his power has been spiking for a few turns.

Spears are being built and I sent him "Fish for Fish" to suss out his intentions.....

In the meantime, I've whipped out the settler to claim Stone and should have that online in ~7 turns for 17 hammer Pro walls.

Fun times. I've got some very defensible geography. hammer

Settled city #5 this turn. (t67)

Claims Rice, Stone and 3 lighthousable lakes.

Power graph suggests that Krill is the one with Horchers.  My exploration is a bit patchy, so I don't know where Superdeath or Commodore are exactly.  But one of them plus Pindicator are within Horchering reach of Krill's high food and hammer 4 city empire.

Yuris didn't return Fish for Fish so war preparations are underway.

Filthy Radicals (my border city towards Yuri) completed Walls last turn and a second spear completes in the Capital at eot to bring the garrison up to 2 spears, 1 axe, and 1 archer.  I'll add another spear and axe over the following 3 turns from the capital.  So I'm confident in my eastern border security at least for the moment.

If I'm reading the mid turn increase of 19 points for Krill correctly, he used his enormous military to capture a size 3 barb city a couple of turns ago.

In the meantime, Commodore continues to run with a non-existant military. And he's closish to Krill.

I smell opportunity.
