Would prefer no diplo, as leaning how to play Civ 4 in a multiplayer environment is enough of a daunting task without learning how to diplo smile

No worries, the only diplo choice here is to enable "True AI Diplo" or not. Basically, it allows you to send offers to other players as if they were an AI, with "Go to war" and "Revolt to Civic/Religion".

I meant to throw together a voting spreadsheet but been a bit scatterbrained. Will do Monday when I ruturn. Lets leave signups open until then.

what's the deal with how the voting spreadsheet will work?

Just an easy way to vote for everyone. Has all the game options available (that matter) rather than making separate posts here.

Because I was being driven mad by people discussing settings in tech thread endlessly, so spreadsheet.

Sorry for the delay.

I'd argue for Monarch, score on, and 1 city per peace deal (but don't abuse it). I'd really recommend WW on and barbs (without ships and cities).

I was also thinking I'd dedlurk greenline or aetryn, as they seems to be the greenest players. My timezone is CET.

Where did you get the idea for an sequential game ? I'm not sure if I translate this right, but this means more or less PBEM, or ? Maybe without the necessity to send the save per email.
I have my first 2 ciV games over at civforum.de and this games are played per PBEM. This is horrible compared to the PB from cIV, even if we don't need to send the save.
I am open to many points, but here I would like to strongly advocate simultaneous moves (with turn splitting in war).

for some reason a bunch of people get real antsy about the risk of double moving (95% of the time accidentally) so there has been a major push for Sequential vs Simultaneous.

Sequential is very nice for war time turns, but simultaneous is king for peace.
