greenline wishes he was playing civ 6 still

the copper location is not ideal

far in the north, through a bunch of hills, and no river connection. i will unfortunately be vulnerable for a bit until i can get workers in this area. if mmjd is rushing me i will be quite sad.

mmjd landed stonehenge, which i expected based on his leader pick. i scouted his lands and he hasn't settled his copper yet, so i think i should be safe from an early rush. I have stone nearby, so I want to go for pyramids. I have a lot of forests to chop into it if I can tech masonry fast enough.

met a lot of other players scouts. map may be a single continent.

city 3 grabs horses and orphans a fish (not worth settling tbh). I was slower than SD and lllbbhjbjbbj on getting a third city. I think that may be because their land was easier for settling cities close together. If I tried to put a third city by my second there would not have been any food resources available.

As for the name, the Scythian civ in Civ6 doubles any of the horseman units you build. A completely insane bonus that has been banned out of every MP game to date, I think.

Why is the fish orphan-able?

here's a shot with resources on that shows how you can't reach the fish from land (there may be an island somewhere that still grabs it):

also shows that i missed another copper being down here. well, i still would have wanted the stone anyway.

mmjd has a fast worker hovering near his copper. it isn't in his borders, but concerning...

map is definitely totestra or something similar. just look at this historically accurate gobi desert:

someone's going to have a very nice border here

copper city, named after the original most busted governor, Magnus. For those unfamiliar, the first Civ6 expansion added 'governors', basically guys you could assign to certain cities to buff them. Magnus on release had the ludicrously powerful ability that doubled all chops, in a version of the game where chops where already the best way of building things. Most games just turned into magnus chopping out settlers and then an army at a ridiculous pace. Magnus and chopping have been nerfed since then, but he's still really useful.

several turns later, copper is hooked up. no one is rushing me that i can see, although dreylin does have a chariot sniffing around. hoping to start work on mids once i have stone hooked. in strong need of more worker labor. things are going decently!

Couldn't you have settled 2S?

2S would mean losing grass hill pigs and having to give those to a city that would have basically no tiles besides said pig and a few hills. In this case I felt like I would rather have a strong 3 resource than 2 weaker cities, one of which needs a work boat to get going. This may the wrong calculus, but I hope it is consistent
