[NO PLAYERS] 82nd Airborne Dropping in to Lurk

I forgot they were playing sequential and he could get a spear out there. Still weird to leave the worker exposed to two chariots.

I did think there was a chance with this map that Scooter and Yuris would become embroiled, but I also thought maybe the lush green jungle belt would be tempting enough.

Am I misreading the terrain, or is Yuris? He says if the Archer moves to the forest hill it can see Cologne, but isn't it surrounded by hills?

Ya that was wrong, but I assumed Scooter would just go take the worker and see. But I guess if he wants to preserve his chariots for a shot at the other city it makes sense not to. He would have been paid off with a worker though, not that he knew that. If there had been an axe or another chariot there and he lost the first chariot then he doesn't get worker.

One thought for the Music GA: wait for a player to die, and then use it to gain a swathe of their deadlands. Often it's hard to make ground with a bomb as established culture gets in the way. That might be less of a concern here given nothings too settled yet. And perhaps waiting for a player to die is begging the question. But some potential there.

Looks like this game will be decided by who Yuris and Commodore don't choose to dogpile? They need to attack either of the leaders of Scooter and Cornflakes, but whoever isn't the target should easily get ahead.

First blood goes to Yuris. And AI diplo strikes again: Yuris misinterpreted Commodore's 'Cornflakes is 8 turns from knights' message as 'let's attack Cornflakes in 8 turns.' Wonder how this shakes out. Yuris and scooter both want Commodore to pile on Cornflakes, and yuris says Commodore's indicating that he'll pile on.

And Cornflakes city was maybe a fine plant in a normal game, but here this is quasi a free lost city.

I'm not sure it was a good plant period. Like sure it was a natural fortress, but it grabbed very little land and his existing culture was good enough defense. It was more natural lightning rod.

It might be as much a case of poor timing as anything else; if Yuris hadn’t misinterpreted the Commodore diplo and already been planning for an invasion, maybe Cornflakes would have had time to fortify the city before Yuris had a chance to gather force to attack.

The point of that plant was to grab the spices resource. Other than that it had nothing. Not a great idea obviously but at least slightly understandable.
