Still trying to win the HoH. Had a group make it there last night - and come second place. Unfortunately second place isn't *quite* good enough.
Granted we got dropped into the match right after the PvE entry to the tombs PvP.
Buying one from players would cost 50-100p in most cases, I believe the halls themselves are 12p, they were last I heard anyway. The halls don't really cost all that much.
We just need to get some more people from the guild into the Tombs arena, or at least the team arenas for some practice.
I'm sure we can win it but there are only a few of us that are playing in the Tombs.

Did you do it with a PvP player or you have managed to get there with your PvE one? Wondering if you have figured out how the PvP only and PvE characters can interact...

Okay, screw this fluffing around. Let's a guild hall.
Gold shouldn't be a problem really. After I completed a 15K armour set on Somewhat Zen, there doesn't seem to be much for her to throw gold at anymore . . . unless I build a complete new 15K set on account of monks needing a good wardrobe selection. 8) She only has one change of clothes and two pairs of shoes as it stands.
I even ran around and bought some extra skills for the sheer hell of having them.
Anyway, count me in for a little contribution. If we all chip in the "many hands make light work" philosophy behind putting in a little effort to get a lot done should put us in the running for some pleasant castle or other. Who's with me?

Gold isn't an issue, we could already have bought a Sigil since I've seen them for just under 40 plat at the trader (was very tempted to just buy one).
The thing about guild halls is that right now they only have 1 use, which is GvG combat. Since only 2 or 3 of the people in the guild actively do any pvp at all, there really isn't much sense in getting a hall that will be pretty much unused.
Also, Soul Flayer has got it in his head that we should get the sigil via HoH, which I agree with somewhat. Gives more of a sense of accomplishment.
As for which Hall to get, Warrior's, Hunter's, and Wizard's are all the same thing with different scenery, which makes them seem, to me at least, a little bland. Isle of the Dead is ideal for setting up a massive amount of traps, where as Nomad's and Druid's are wide open for field combat and the like. Burning is just... blah...
And after spending even more time in the desert and learning its tricks and secrets, I don't mind the place all that much anymore.

Gold really isn't an issue. I am sure everyone will contribute a fair share if we decide to finally grab a hall.
I also agree with Soul Flayer wanting to win the sigil... however, it may take too long at the (PvP) state we are at, and miss out some of the advantages an official guild hall offers.
Sure it will be cool to have a place we can all hang out when we are not out killing monsters, have bbq parties, populate the world and what not. A guild hall would actually get us more (and more of us) into GvG/PvP mode. It's a mind game. Trust me on this one.
I vote for grabbing a guild hall now

Which is an aspect of the game that we haven't really explored much as a guild and given that most of us have at least one character at the end of the game, maybe it's time. 8)

Well, my old guild (Entropy Effect) had the Wizard's Isle guild hall.
And it was dull beyond all belief. Avoid. There's nothing there at all. I would have liked something more like a rebuilt Nolani Academy, not the pre-searing Ashford Village vibe that it suffers from.
I like the Isle of the Dead myself, has a sense of drama and beauty.
And I'm not averse to chipping in a couple of platinum to the guild hall fund. Who's collecting?
Anyway, rumour has it among the fansites that are perhaps closer to ANet than we are is that guild halls will receive an overhaul sometime soon (Possibly after the big summer update), with guild storage and scrimmage arenas among the ideas ANet are considering. When that happens, sigil prices are going to hit the roof.

As has been said, I would personally prefer we win the Sigil for our hall, however, as KoP said it dosen't look like that is going to happen in the near future.
If you guys want a hall, find me (or KoP) in game and give me however much you want to donate towards it. If theres any need, I'll pay what else is needed.
Of course, there is no point in doing this until we have decided what hall we want, and I suppose the best way to do that is to vote on it. Perhaps list the top 1-3 halls (in your opinion) in order of preference and we can decide from there.
