Sim 4, settle in place and go BW first. Again, it's a tossup - it looks like Agriculture first is slightly ahead also when settling in place.

I'll settle in place and pass the turn on to Kyan then?

Thus the Straight Talking civilization was born. The secret password to godlike powers over this civilization is civ.

Here's a map of the know world:

This was supposed to be a screenshot, but somehow it turned out all black, so I had to improvise.

That's awesome! Now I've got to go get caught back up in your PBEM13 thread, just to see if you have any more of that lol

Played T1. We were the only ones who settled on T0.

Looks like there are many possible Great Lighthouse locations here.

Played T2. We do indeed seem to have found a good spot for TGLH.

Updated sandbox here.

Time to lay a lighthouse plan?

Yes, no reason not to fully map out the coastline since no nearby opponents (we presume) and no barbs. Does your plan still have us completing another warrior before the third worker and first settler?

If it keeps you out of mischief...

Did some simming, and I think we should be able to get the lighthouse around T40 without hampering our expansion too much. We'll probably need to tech something like Agriculture->BW->TW->Fishing->Sailing->Masonry->Pottery->AH->Writing. Or maybe even Pottery after Writing. We would be looking at three cities, a reasonable amount of workers, and TGLH by T40. Not great expansion, but not terrible either. (OK, pretty bad, but TGLH will be worth it).

It delays Pottery and Writing a lot, so our cities will mainly be building workers and settlers. With high food and no happy resources delaying Pottery shouldn't be too much of an issue - we won't have the happy faces for extensive whipping anyway. Capital and our GLH city can alternate between working mines and building workers, and working farms and growing.

Thoughts?

Our plan is more of a lofty idea at the moment. The specifics so far are:

Build a worker while researching Agriculture->BW->TW. When the worker completes, start a new one and keep working the plains forest hill. Go farm the corn. When the corn farm completes, work the corn and start a warrior (interrupting the worker build). Farm the rice. Grow to size 2. At size 2, BW comes in, revolt immediately to slavery. When the anarchy is over, the rice farm is complete. Work the corn and rice and keep growing to size 3 on the warrior build. At size 3, work the corn, rice and pfh and finish the second worker, and overflow to a third. After farming the rice all workers chop forests.

This plan should have us covered to around T15, at least. With the current pace of the save, that should be a couple of RL days...
