Just a quick update that I did get TGLH this turn. Now for that question of opening borders...

I researched Alpha, and Mostly Harmless immediately offered open borders on his own accord. Nice! Sent OB offers to Krill (fat chance!) and Dazed (could happen). Will send one to TT next turn, when I finally met him

Oooh, this mod is confusing.
And on the sixth day, god created Manchester.

Not yet. The confusing part will start when we come to tech trading
Krill completed the Oracle. On T69, yeah. The latest PBEM Oracle ever? I'm hoping to finish Colossus next turn
Neither Krill nor Dazed agreed to OBs. Maybe TT will be more cooperative?

Which is at... Paper?
What about the weird known tech bonuses?

Yes, at Paper, and pre-Paper techs cannot be traded
As for known tech bonuses, I didn't even notice they're missing tbh. Maybe because I never can account for them in vanilla BtS

All of a sudden, we entered AD years - T75 a.k.a. 1AD was played today. Dazed declared war on TT, who was already at war with Krill. What is it all about? TT has the highest power in the game, but doesn't look like he has any success in the war. MH completed TGLib. I'm still at the top of the score board, tied in score for 1-2 with Krill. Krill is now at 10 cities, ahead of everyone else; TT and I are at 9. But judging by the demos, my cities are better than everyone else's
The only stat I'm concerned about is land area. Yes, I'm ahead right now, but when other people's land tiles are at their maximum, and my water tiles are no longer powered by Colossus, I'm going to be in bad shape. So I'm going to grow my existing cities to the cap, and then spam Settlers. I still have land to expand; it's not perfect, because I can only expand in the northern/southern direction, thus creating a long thin empire which isn't easy to defend. But it's better than not expanding, and I expect to get protective longbows relatively soon
Krill already has them btw, looks like he took Feudalism from Oracle. Funny that both protective leaders in the game are at the top of the scoreboard

Well, looks like first I don't update the thread because there's nothing to say, then because I'm lazy, then because "well, it's T100 soon, I'll update then" Anyway, I just played T97. Krill is running away, I'm trying hard to keep up. Dazed signed open borders with me; last turn TT declared war on him again. MH culture bombed my continent, blocking a few spots I wanted to settle, and stealing some of my food tiles. MH actually has the lowest power, and now that I have OB with Dazed, I might want to attack him. I'm getting Guilds next turn; don't have HBR yet (ah that hut I so luckily popped early :neenernee), but it's a 1t research now, so not a big deal
Actually there are quite a few cheap techs I want to get: HBR for knights, Aest-Lit-Drama for my UB and culture wars. Although it could make sense to discover Paper first, to start getting pre-req discounts on these techs
More in a couple of days, when T100 comes

Oh, and I'm building ToA in my capital, because it's still available, I can do it in 5 turns, and it will give me 10cpt instantly (pre-Bureau bonus)
