[SPOILER] Waterbat spends '104 Days of Summer Vacation'

We got the save!

Demos before moving anything:

"Analysis":

Score:
Everyone settled - as we expect to do. From the wpc post above, I assume that our starting techs are the 11 points. So settling gains 19 points.... i have no idea why at this point smile

Gold, Prod, Food:
I have no idea how these numbers relate to what the civs might be doing. Is it simply counted in base hammers/foods/coin+beakers? modified?

Soldiers:
I dont understand the average soldier points at 5200. We have 6 civs. Average should end in [166, 333, 500, 666, 833, 000]. oh duh... Its not world average... its RIVAL average. ok so, yes as one of the 4000 civs, expected average rival is 5200.

Land Area:
Total Land by the 3 civs = 24 8 tiles a piece fits normally with a nearly mirrored start.

Pop:
Everyone gets 1

Approval:
3 settled civs at 83%

Life:
hmm average of the 3 settled civs 88.8, but best shows 90. This could be 1 civ at 90 and other 2 at 85? I dont know the conversion between health and lifeexp or the tiles themselves to health.

Exports:
All 0

Actions:
Moved the warrior on the hill to the SW. I moved SW knowing that the first turn will not reveal much, but I want to scout a potential second city site that could share the corn. I notice based on tile-bleed that the north looks coastal.

I settled!

Here's what I am thinking:
I want to go worker first and tech Agri for the corn. With this many forests though, I am wary of getting warrior choked - that happened to me in a pickup game and it was not fun (i started scout).

Then immediately tech BW to get chopping. I guess we need to fit in AH for the cow too .

I think this will leave a bunch of turns where the worker isn't able to do anything with no road/cottage/etc available. Ahhhhhhhh. sandbox time already?? Let me get that going before deciding what to do.

Interesting post-settling demo changes:
Our lifeexp is 87. So the earlier numbers suggest 1 civ at 90 and 2 at 87.

Gold/Prod/Food:
for the settled 3 civs- 53 total gnp

Somehow we got 19 and rival best is 19. Oh our CRE adds to this number, right?
so 19... 17... 17...

I thought that explained it, but we are the first CRE to go. We should be ahead of them all, right?? working different tiles doesnt seem to affect the GNP (our coin on the riverside doesnt do anything?)

our beakers are 10, our culture is 4, Our gpt = 0. I'm not sure how to get 19 out of that. Or get 17 out of civs that don't get 4 culture.

for the settled 3 civs- 10 total food and 10 total prod

Interesting! Do the EXP Civs get a bonus by working 1f2h tile already? Assuming that we all got PH city sites, that would be 4 hammers, so they'd get 1 extra, correct? Best Rival is showing 4, but i dont think it would show the bonus... is that right?

Again, assuming PFH cities, the breakdown would be like this:
Azza: working the PFH, best in prod (4), 3 food
Catwalk: working the riverside grass prod 2, best in food 4
Xenon: working the PFH, best in prod (4), 3 food

Our land area: 0.61% total tiles based on a 60x40 map: 2400 total land tiles: 1312 ? Does that seem reasonable? If so, we should each expect to settle roughly 15x15 of land?

+% for researching a tech with prerequests

Expansive hammer bonus doesn't show

total land is easily viewable by holding the mouse over your name on the scoreboard ... the higher number on the total land is the number of navitage able land tiles (every land tile thats not a mountain)

Sorry not been feeling so great today. Even now I'm kind of in a daze. The C&D looks good so far. Did you add in prechopping trees for those worker turns with nothing to do?

Sian thanks for the info. Not so much for giving us 3 food resources that each need a different tech!

here is a sandbox with known territory:

The only thing I tried so far was Agg first and even then I had 3 turns of nothing to do before BW came in - unless we want to scout or farm another tile. I will need to get the save moving, but have a 2 hour non-civ window now.

Definitely want to farm more then one tile lol How did I miss that

Spent far too much time playing around with the sandbox. Especially since with only the capital revealed there isn't a whole lot to do. I just went about testing different ways to get to 2 works and one settler. Was pretty cool that there isn't really one best option but a whole bunch of situational options. Really depends what we're looking for.

thanks K - i spent a little time in it, but didn't record anything properly. I did decide for now to go Agri + fast worker. We'll work the PF tile until border pop and move to the corn for the extra beaker.

As for the extra worker turns before BW - we can always put some turns into a mine - should we mine GH tiles? There is one GH tile across the river from the city+corn. I used to mine all hills in Civ3. We also can travel a bit and put turns into a mine on the PHs SE of the city.

Guessing that was him catching you. I keep typing things up then changing my mind. Basically those free worker turns are most likely going to be used on a farm. Actually other then the super risky, worker, warrior, worker start there is very little chopping and whipping involved.

Basically with 3 chops we can have a settler at turn 21. Would only have 2 workers and 2 improved tiles. Not to mention, Rome seeming to be going warrior first. I just don't see it as a safe option. The next quickest option is turn 23 settler with a second worker three turns later.

@Sian - thanks for the notes!

@K sorry yes, I posted in the CFC Diplo-game C&D thread that i wanted to be part of the sub-team responsible for C&D and then also posted that line that he quoted smile

Rome hasnt played yet, so we have no info on that, right?

we seem to be able to squeeze in a second warrior slow build in only 3t. Did any of your plans include that? I'd like to get a few out as sentries to protect our UUs from getting pilfered
