[SPOILERS] Team My Little Marathon Cannibal Pony on another PG-13 adventure!

I don't think you get a choice, I doubt very much that plako will have made a map that has teams separated pre optics, as that is just assumed here.
They don't mean universal contact at game start, if that's what you're worried about.

I look forward to getting started, not knowing what civ/leader we have to work with makes for a general assumption I would rather be more certain of.
Be that as it may, do you favour worker/warrior or warrior/worker as the first two builds?

Ok, so we get next to last pick of civ, but second pick of leader. Maybe this is a good opportunity to make a back-up plan on the civ? I would Imagine the civs we have on our list are quite high on the list for others as well.

It doesn't matter what order we pick. We could pick civ first and then leader, or vice versa. Since we are second last and then second in the order I don't think it really matters the order since only one team is between our picks. It will be interesting to seee what happens with the picks.

How do the picks progress? Choosing in-game or stating in thread?

Stating in thread.
Out of curiosity, how would choosing in-game work?

Your starting position. Only visible tiles will be kept so no need to try to read the fog.

Looks like Sumeria is a good choice for the start. If we get Sumeria then we should go Hunting - AH - Fishing. to start off our teching.

Sumeria is good choice, I approve.

Hunting - AH - Fishing is go for launch.

Have you seen the Rules thread? I have read it and approve of everything in it.
Just waiting for you to state that you have read and approve(or ask a question in thread about something unclear at this time), then I can publicly affirm that we are ready to choose civ/leader.

Q, you got me by the hairs on my cojones on that one. No, no need to pull further. It was a mistake to say that. No, no! NOOOOOOO- *faint*

Oh, these dedlurkers and their straight-on-point and revealing-my-ignorance questions. tongue

I noticed you guys seemed interested in trying to play aggressively in this game. Why do you want to choose Sumeria then? Playing aggressively with a 1 move UU on a spread out map does not seem to me a wise strategy. No matter what you attack with, your rivals will see you coming and whip heavily to defend themselves. A 1 move UU means they'll be able to whip up to 2 times as many defenders to counter your stack compared to 2 move UUs, making it exponentially more difficult to overcome the inherent defensive bonuses. Picking AGG won't even come close to overcoming this.

Not saying Sumeria is a bad choice, because it isn't, but on a map like this you're better served playing a more standard builder-ish opening with them on a spread out map like this, or picking a civ with a more mobile early UU.
