Of our opponents of course. wink

Have you worked out a micro plan agent? Obviously we have a lot of time until the worker completes, but I think we have enough information to set one up. Here's my best run to T30:

We've already revolted to slavery. It's probably the most obvious plan; improve pigs ->grow on warrior to size 2 -> size 2 worker -> improve sheep -> chop into settler -> mine -> 2nd workers chop into settler. Only put anything into the settler on the chop turns, Imp makes us 30h.

It has a couple of points that might be improved, but I'm not sure how:

-the first warrior sits almost completed in the queue for 6t while we build the second worker at size 2.
-We are 1t away from Wheel when the settler comes in, if we could get another turn of research we could road the 1S tile and cut a turn off the settlers travel time
-we're 1t behind the fastest wheat improvement time.

Updated sandbox attached, it's the correct civ and leader, just wasn't bothered changing the colour wink.

I had a bunch of notes but they're on the computer that died :/

As I recall it was
Worker -> pigs, then to Mine
Second worker pops out, goes to Cows
Grow to S2, work Pigs & Mine
Both workers are freed up & in place on separate forests when BW hits
Chop 2 settlers by ~T32, then revolt

Setter #1's city pumps out two Warriors for Garrisons
Settler #2's city.. depends on what the terrain holds, but probably Worker first?

Too aggressive of expansion? Would mean 3 cities, 2 workers. Capital would have 2 improved tile to work (Pig, Mine), City #2 needs its Wheat farmed to have 2 tiles, City #3 depends on what's in the fog..

Also, isn't it better to mine the Plains hill to the North first to get the Imp bonus from its extra hammer?

2S next turn?

Regarding your micro:
I really doubt improving the mine first over the cows would work. In the very best case scenario where you're building a settler, the mine could possibly be a 7 yield tile with the correct rounding, the cows always gives 7 yield into a settler. You also don't seem to be growing to size 3, so the 3rd improvement would be wasted for a while.

I'm not sure if getting two settlers out as fast as you suggest would be beneficial. Despite being Imp, the cities need to be working improved tiles to be useful. My philosophy in PB19 was not to focus on getting lots of settlers quickly, just make sure when I did build them it was primarily with hammers and not food. You still expand faster with Imp anyway, focus on making sure you're cities are economically productive.

Mind you, we could probably whip a new settler T33 or T34 in my sim below.

The plains hill would be better, but in this case I was trying to use the worker turns productively on something near the wheat. This is also shareable between both cities. Could chop another forest instead or put turns into a farm somewhere, which would speed the wheat up by a turn.

Might have some better city sites around here somewhere:

I'll probably go 1SE, 1NE.

First item: I finally got a computer working that can run Civ!!

Second item:
I see, to me, lots of Decent (but not exceptional) city spots that can piggy-back off each other's resources, which should be perfect for IMP without CRE or EXP.

Here's some prospective dots, please tell me what you think.

  • Green Alpha sacrifices the Dyes Tile which would otherwise taunt us, unworkable, until the invention of Iron Working and Calendar.
It would work Ulundi's cows as its first ring food. At second ring it will work the Pigs, then the Clams.
I have never tried calculating max city growth before, so here's a shot in the dark.
Base tile provides +2 food, Clams provides +3, a Farmed Grassland provides +3. Each worked tile beyond the City's tile itself requires 2 food, so it could work Clams, Grassland, a hills mine, and have 1 lingering pop for whipping

  • Orange Beta works the Pigs in its first tile, then eventually claims the Fish.
    City = +2, Pigs = +6, Fish = +4, thus it can work 13 / 2 = 6 tiles.. Pigs, Fish, Silver, 2 Specialists, 1 Whippable Citizen?

  • Blue Delta
City +2, Grass hill Sheep +4 = 3, works the Sheep and Fur, 1 whippable citizen

  • Red Gamma
Already planned as next expansion spot
I experimented in Worldbuilder: Even if we have a city at Red Spot linking the two river networks, we need Sailing to hook a resource (silver, furs) across those lakes

Main issue here is how to apportion that appealing fish tile..
  • Purple Echo claims the Fish and the Crabs, but more scouting is needed-- can't be certain yet the water loops around that landmass. It gets the Plains Hill bonus and can use its food bonus to work specialists or mined Grassland hills. It does have a big honkin' peak tile in its first ring but that doesn't bother me much.
  • Cyan Golf claims Fish in its first ring, but nothing else. It's close to the capital and lets us jam in more cities in what spaces are left though, or could Satellite the Capital to work cottages while the Capital continues to pump out Workers & Settlers
  • Pink India claims Fish and Cows, but neither in its first ring. I expect the cows to be more useful for a potential city in the south, currently hidden by fog. The land terrain Pink India can otherwise work is boring, I don't like this spot...

Lastly, to our Northwest, Dark Red Kilo, grows on the Pigs, then works the Rice and the pre-existing cottage... filler city, but with 5 forests in its radius. Nothing I'm too excited for

Congrats!

My first city thought is not to get too attached to that red Gamma. It was the best looking spot with the incomplete information we had and it was good to plan toward, but we should stay flexible as we reveal new information. The spot between the wheat and cow seems like it'd probably be better, despite the loss of the shared cow.

That obviously has knock on effects on the rest of the dotmap.

I like the look of Purple Echo a lot. Plains hill plant, fish first ring, we'll pick up the crabs when the capital pops 3rd ring T50. We should probably think about chopping the forests along the way, and if we can send a warrior or something up there to make sure we aren't missing anything.

I'm not a big fan ok red Kilo, since it gets nothing first ring. We need a bit more information up there, but at least getting first ring rice should be better.

Beta is a nice spot, 2N could also work, depends how badly we need the happiness.

Also; what about a naming scheme? The phonetic alphabets doesn't sound like a bad idea.
