I guess that is a positive way of looking at it. Also noted in that sim my 4th city got delayed a lot because I lost 2 warriors to a barb. A harbinger of things to come?

Misclicked and moved scout wrong way blehhhhhh. But I don't think it is a big enough deal to ask for a reload. The bigger question is do I go for the copper as the 3rd city or 4th city.

Yeah the 1st chop went to a warrior but this is not a mistake. I need a unit to secure the city site and I was tempted to just use the scout but that seemed very questionable. All the OF will go to the Settler that will be complete with 2 more chops. Isolated start?

Bleh on barb combat. Also now I know non-isolated start. The 2nd city will actually grab all 3 food resources so it will be a late 2nd city at T36 but the best I could do due to non-plains hill start.

Global events:
T30: TWB researched BW and REM whipped his cap 2->1 for a WB I think
T32: Greywolf and TWB grew to 4, which makes TWB the person that grew his cap to 3 on T25. The latter whipped his city for a settler I have to imagine.
T33: ipecac and OH researched BW. I think both players also must have made their settler this turn but pretty sure both only have 1 worker. Molach was the 1st person to found his 2nd city, but likely only has 1 worker so I think I am slightly bit ahead overall

I am really puzzled by the OT4E team. They have not researched a single tech since T19 but grew their cap to 5. Did they decide to change techs midway through?

Not much to report since the scout died, which in hindsight I easily could have avoided but if it meant that I could road SE of sheep and secure the city site 100% with the warrior surviving, I think this is an average outcome. I will likely be tied for the 4th civ on founding the 2nd city but Molach and OH only have 1 worker, but sure that Dantski made a 2nd worker before settler at size 2 like I did.

[Sullla]So Molach and OH crushed their growth curve to get out the early settler and now have 1 worker for 2 cities. Pretty dubious play. Dantski actually did do a good job, and is probably about even to us in overall growth curve. Everyone else was slower than us to get a second city, which is hard to believe since we opened with double workers (and have been ignoring our fish resource completely).[/Sullla]

On a serious note, I really do wonder which opening is better overall theoretically, settler before 2nd worker or 2nd worker before settler, and what are the factors you have to account for. I just simmed it and 2nd worker seemed to come out ahead so no idea on this matter.

T34: Dantski researched a tier 1 tech with 0 power, likely pottery since it took 7t. Gavagai researched AH. OH founded 2nd city. REM researched agriculture and grew cap to 3.
T35: Dantski founded 2nd city. Ipecac 1 slaved cap down to 3. OT4E finally researched BW.
T36: Greywolf researched mining. Really sad that I am not neighboring him and will be sadder if Gavagai or OH is . TWB grew his cap back to 3. I actually think that he lost his 1st settler to barbs. Same sadness about Greywolf applies here.
