it'd be good to play this on the BUG version if we can. i'm not really tooo fussed about the rules so just pick whatever most people are happy with.

I do not want to commit to another PB as my palying will be spotty as my laptop is broken and I will be travelling during the summer.
Hello, Chumchu. smile I would be glad to have you as a teammate, and I think that I can manage fairly consistent reporting for you to follow along even if you can’t log in.

The BUG features would be nice, I agree, but Charriu’s version is too new. It probably still has some bugs, and a bug coming up months into a multiplayer game that many people have devoted a lot of time to would be very bad. I don’t think that we should risk it.

For settings, I propose the following:
Quote:Mod: Rebalance the Realms 4.1.0.2.
Difficulty: Monarch
Speed: Normal
Era: Ancient
Turn Speed: 24 real hours per one turn
Vassals, Huts, and Events: Off
Barbarians: On, Normal
Espionage: On
Diplomacy: AI diplomacy. No renaming cities or units to communicate. No trading cities. No using the trade screen to communicate, with one exception: same resource for same resource trade deals are allowed (Examples: fish for fish, copper for copper).
Double Moves: Regular Realms Beyond rules. Don’t be a jerk.
Map Trading: Not allowed (does this version of the mod allow it anyway, though?)
Pick Style: The style of 38/43, possibly with some bans.
I prefer normal speed to quick speed because I think that the game will be too short if we use quick.

A map along the lines of the maps used in 41 and 42 seems good. That is, an appropriately sized Big and Small map, chosen as the best from a small pool of potential candidates, with balanced but non-mirrored capitals, balanced strategic resources, and maybe a bit of holistic “win chance” balance checking as well. Can we get any volunteers to do something like this for us?

I have to agree on that one. My plan was to do a quick and very casual MP game after some more SP testing.

I did not say it was not fun, just that we did not do so well ; )

Then it is settled. I'll join Magic Science and try not to jinx him this time.

It looks like the witching hour is near at hand. Krill has updated RtR. I haven't gone through the patch notes, but it's my understanding this is the more vanilla version, and he's thinking about another branch for some civ changes/testing. RtR 4.1.0.3

How are we feeling about putting a deadline for sign-ups and looking for a mapmaker (whom we promise to love unconditionally)?

There are a couple more minor issues to resolve, but yes, the new version is nearly ready.

You are wrong about the patch notes, though. This version does include all of the civilization changes. One of those is

so the problem of Pro/Inca is taken care of, no ban needed!

I am eager to start the game, so I approve of moving towards the end of the setup phase.

How does everybody feel about the map settings? I could role you a map if nobody else is up to it, but I also would like to dedlurk Magic Science, too.

By the way if naufragar could update the first post with the current confirmed settings that would be great.

Settings added to first post. Charriu, let me make a post in Civ General to see if we can grab a mapmaker, so you can dedluck MS. Let's give it a couple days of advertising.

Well, that was quick. Commodore has offered to roll the map.

Gav, have you decided if you're playing this one?

Current player count is 6 (7, hopefully, if Gavagai joins). Final call for last minute sign-ups, anybody? Current player list below.

I'd be willing to join someone if they want a teammate. Probably won't have time to play on my own with PB44 and occasional quick games.
