There hasn't been a thread this entertaining since Pocketbeetle's FFH 1 report.

If we do manage to capture Beijing, could you unlock the UN thread for say, 24 hours? There is no way we're saving Team #1's asses and not getting to rib them for it a little bit. I am here, but not sure that's a good idea. Sullla was right originally that player communication is disallowed, even if his delivery of that thought came across badly. Team 1's approach to the remainder of the game should not be influenced by such communication from you. (Lurkers will understand why.)
Also, as Shoot said, capturing Beijing doesn't necessarily stop the CV, if they have enough artists to bomb up another city.

Agreed, I was one of the people supporting him in that argument.
I just felt like the possible fall of Beijing would be a special case where we could bend the rules a little. That being said, I respect your opinion and you make a good point.
Would it be over the line to post something akin to this in the Turn Tracking Thread when we end turn?

@Team #1 - You're welcome :neenernee
If we manage to stop Team #2's culture victory run - if you guys think it would be appropriate anyway - I would like to propose to Team #1 that we re-open the UN Thread. The main reason for not having one - in my understanding - is to prevent a third party from gaining an intelligence advantage from another two bantering. However, if we take Beijing, it effectively rules out Team #2's chances of victory, making this game a two-horse race. The effect would be that any banter between us and Team #1 would not avail the other ones simply because they would not be relevant enough to capitalize on it. At any rate, just a thought.

Nope, that's communication I'd say. Let the gentlemen continue their stroll in peace.

I feel like there is probably a really good name for Team Spullarise in here somewhere.
"Like A Sir" - Pitboss #6 With Speaker, Sulla and Sunrise
"Speaker's Most Excellent Group of Gentlemen Adventurers"
"Speaker, Sulla, and Sunrise Take A Leisurely Stroll Through Pitboss #6"
"Let's Beat the Blighters" - Speaker, Sulla, and Sunrise Play Pitboss #6
EDIT: You should read all of these with a thick British accent.

This. That said, I really hope this game has a more satisfying ending.

You really must not tell Sullla's team anything here. I understand you're eager to brag to them, but for now you'll have to be content with showing off to the lurkers.

That you could do and we'll see if Team 1 agrees. But not right when you capture Beijing. Play on until everyone is sure that Team #2 is virtually eliminated, and you should also be sure that team 4 has no chance to influence the game either. (Even if team 4 can't win, they might still have enough mojo to influence whether the game swings to you or team 1.) In other words, when you know for absolute sure it's a two horse race, say so.

Very well, I defer to T-Hawk's wisdom.
We'll just have to make up for it in the postgame :neenernee
At any rate, hopefully Lewwyn and ASM will be on point when T1 plays their turn tonight, so we can get our turn in as well. If there are no more significant delays, we should be invading sometime in the next 72 hours.
Is there a lurker betting pool yet?

I'm not aware of a betting pool, would you like to propose some wagers for us to waste money on? I can quickly think of a few, don't know how interesting they are. Also, I'm not a degenerate gambler so if we have any around here maybe they can propose more interesting (and detailed) prop bets.
- Over/Under on turns to capture Beijing/Milkshake (since you've floated the option of going for both)
- Over/Under on number of turns to complete the conquest of each of the three civs in team 2
- Prop bet on the highest promoted surviving unit in the Real Men of Genius invasion force
- Over/Under on the number of great generals generated in total, combined between the two teams
- Over/Under bet on the correct Regoarrarr scale point value for 1: if the CV is successful (applies to teams 1,3, and 4), or, 2: The Regoarrarr value applied to Team 2 if the CV attempt fails.
