Even though this turn I played before him, if the turn rolls overnight he might get in his next turn before I can log in tomorrow. Really only after I declare to we truly have to institute the turn split. Which hopefully will only last until the turn after I hopefully raze the city and offer peace to him...unless he rages out on me.

If he plays before you next turn, what happens is that you got "double moved", so I don't see any problem if you attack second and take the second half of the split. The turn splits are usually to avoid a double move by the attacker, as far as I understand, not by the defender.

Realized I almost forgot to post the demos for you Mindy. Here they are:

Sleepy will be finishing it's Galley in 2 turns, and currently planning a Settler after that (6 turns I believe). Hungry is 1-turning a Worker from the overflow of the settler and the chop coming in. Will likely make another Archer after that since I'll want an Archer in each of my cities on the other side of the mountains. Sore is finishing it's Walls this turn and with the chop that came in this turn (causing 36 hammers of overflow into next) should get out a 1-turn Axe. Stressed will get it's Axe in 2 turns. This one will head towards the Barb city.

PS. Look at that #1 in Production, even if for only one turn. smile And heh, looks like someone is in Anarchy this turn.

Overview of the empire please. I'll bother you a lot less about specifics,...although I'll also harass you a lot more about specifics.

Thanks for the powergraph,...not much to do since Grimace has held steady. Master Commodore won't make a move on us with that rapidly increasing power spike.

Dang. He's got an Axe/Archer in city with a Chariot on the Stone (where his Worker is).

I doubt you are around but if you are, pop on and let me know your thoughts. Do I still move in the other Axe and Chariots? His chariot has C1, but I can also promo one of my chariots to have C1 as well. That way if he attacks with his Chariot, I would hope/think my C1 chariot would get 50% odds against it. And if he attacked with his Axe, my Shock axe would get better than 50% since his Axe is only C1.
I'm going to do a few other things while I think on this in case you are around. I'm tired and sore and beat up from softball tonight. So I'm going to go to bed soon. I suppose I can wait until morning to finish the turn....but really, I just don't want to. So if I don't hear from you I'll likely end up sending in all the troops. He at least doesn't have an Impi there.
Also, since it's kind of unlikely he'll be able to kill more than just a single Chariot, I could probably even send one chariot to kill that scout of his. It would still be in position to help attack next turn...and maybe even have a C1 promotion out of it.

And in the meantime, here are the demos for this turn:

Oh well, my impatience and tired state won out....it's all or nothing...

Killed his scout with my chariot. Only got 1XP so not enough for a promo. Oh well.
So now I wait to see what he does next turn. If he takes the stacked odds and tries to attack me, the RNG could decide to hate me and he actually either wins or hurts my Axe so much that it then can't attack the Archer. The odds for my Shock Axe against his Archer is already only 61% (and it'll go down next turn with it having another turn of fortification). So not really sure what I'm going to do next turn. Maybe sacrifice a chariot first, hoping it can get in a couple hits? That's probably what I'd do, I guess. Since losing the shock axe would hurt more than losing one (or even both) of these chariots.
My real problem is that on his turn he'll likely drop off 2 more units with his Galley. His scout saw my stack on the Cows this turn. So he likely loaded up the galley so that he could send it over next turn, since I'm sure he was able to guess I had positioned myself for attacking this turn. Blah. This is going to hurt.....

Ewwwww,...looks like a knock-down drag out fight rather than an easy win.

Is our victorous chariot injured? I think that it all depends on what GJ does with that Chariot. Winning or losing against our Chariot will probably decide whether we green light the attack. The odds are with us, but we're not going to win without 'normal' luck.

I think that the chariot first would probably be the best move. However, if the fort increases the archer might defend against the unpromoted axe.

The chariot killed the scout taking damage at all. smile I did click with each toon, and it appears that the archer will be the first defender against whatever unit I attack with first.
I'd like to create a sim to try out the attack sequences. Especially since I'll have plenty of time to dwell on this now that retap is going to need the game paused until tomorrow to buy a new computer.
How do I create an opponent with 25% Fortification of both the Axe & Archer within the city? I'm guessing that's what they have. I know the archer does at least...I think.

And yeah, it's all going to come down to what GJ does. If he thinks he'll lose the city regardless of what happens, he might be willing to take the offensive knowing that if any of my units are wounded I'd likely not be able to kill the Archer, even if it means losing both his Chariot & Axe. And his Chariot vs Chariot would be a coin flip, and I don't know the odds of a C1 Axe vs a Shock axe but I'm sure he'd still get like 25-30% odds. So the RNG could like him and he'd kill both my primary attackers.

And the suspense of waiting for retep to get a new computer may just kill me first anyway. rant

I'd say that if he's sure that he could lose the city, he'd either DunKirk his units to the chariot hill or alternatively try to sneak in a kill on our city. He's unlikely to attack into our Shock axe with only 25% chance of a landing a win. Right now he's got some chance of holding the city, and barring extremely good luck,..no chance if he attacks out.

I'd be surprised if the archer had 25% fort this early? As I see it he first dropped off the axe & settler. Next he dropped off the worker & archer. Finally he dropped off the scout and chariot and the chariot sat in pace in case he needed it back on his mainland.

Yes, I just ran the combat calculator and a C1 Axe vs CG1 Archer has 60.52% with NO fortify. So the archer just got there this turn.
0% fort 60.5%
5% fort 58.9%
10% fort 57.2%
15% fort 31.1%

So it looks like we have 2T before the fort starts to make a material difference.

Chariot vs CG1 Archer
0% fort 24%
5% fort 22.6%
10% fort 21%
15% Fort 12.4%

C1 Chariot vs CG1 Archer
0% fort 29%
5% fort 27.4%
10% fort 25.9%
15% fort 24.5%

Same,...so the fortify shouldn't be a factor for a couple of turns still.

As for the sandbox, I've answered your fortify question,...and I don't know that you can assign fortify (but I could be wrong). You can definately assign promotions to opponents however.
