turn 75

The turn started with some diplo from Amicalola asking OB, i accepted since they are not in a good position, so giving them gold wasnt bad. And we also need to pass through him to see where Ruff got his 3rd and 4rd city. Eventhough i think one of those is on the island.

   

After that i tried to micro all the cities, and think what to do next, the doubt i have is with the mids, im unsure whent to stop to build it. Also on the capitol finally decided for a chariot to see the ruff's cities. Also will grow to 6pop to work some cottages while prebuilding units. Started a worker on Raspberry that has happy cap and not much hammers, but a decent amount of Food-hammers.

       

I made a pic of what i think it could be the cities of Ruff, also thinking if we should keep that second city or not, i think it would be better 1 north

The second city could well be burned. We have cheap settlers and it is poorly placed from an economic standpoint. 1 North and 1 NW are both better options. If we already have the capitol I would burn it if we can resettle it soon unless it has very good infrastructure left. If we take it before his capitol I would keep it as his capitol prevents re-settling those sites.

Open borders with tarkeel is great. The 3:d city looks obvious to me, what a great site. The fourth city might be the island, the deer site or maybe close to the eastern corn. I would guess the island as well.

About Pyramids. Consider them as an extra investment to do if you have time. Blueberry could definitely use a whipped lighthouse or a barrack instead.

Turn 76

I thought we would get the corn back this turn when the borders of Grapes poped, but we didnt. Can someone explain me that mechanic? 

   

Amica settled his 8th city, i hope he is not messing and wanting to split ruff since its our only chance to get land. Gira found us in the west so i would guess he is farther behind of Cairo-Civac-Jowy, in fact jowy atacked him and took a city.

I ve been thinking on micro and since im a bit bad with whips i am thinking just to whip the HA out, so i started barracs on Blueberry, it takes 5 turns and on 7 turns we will have HBR done so 2 turns of pre build of axes, another option would be to move the worker to the forest and chop it for 20 hammers which are 2 turns, i wanted to chop into mids to get later some more gold but i am thinking now to chop the axe + 1 more turn which would be 30 hammers ready to get on one more turn. 

Pomegranate is working full of cottages and im unsure if thats worth or it would be better to turn into production for prebuilding things, with jsut 2 hammers we wont ever end. just getting things by whiping.

Lemon will grow next turn and nor the mine nor the cottage ended but it will be just 1 turn since i will whip the worker out then, then regrow and will have the mine and the cottage after that.

But as a resume nor lemon, raspberry and pomegranate will have hammers enough to prebuild units i think, so it might be too soon to try to get an army in 7-9 turns at the sice we were talking about.

Since he still can see our tech, i though to try to lie him with the war declaration into mjmd. Since i want to whip a full horde of HA that will be really noticeable at PBSPY so if its followed by a war declaration to mjmd eventhoguh we want to offer peace afterwards he might think its to kill him and then we get 1 or 2 turns of surprise.

       

Demos and graphs, i forgot to make some pics yesterday so lets think it didnt change much. at 0% we are 5th so its nice, remember we have no religion nor CRE trait nor wonders so its a good number. Also 1st of hammers and decent on food, so i would say we are not in bad shape. We are giving some money into Amica as we knew since we are PRO and our TR are as goos as his.

Thanks for the pictures, the name rang a bell and i wanted to know why.

I saw this on my honeymoon, my wife and me spent 6 months in South America, one month in Peru. Sadly we did not eat it, as my wife us not so much into sweet dishes.

It looks quite good!

Turn 77

We started the turn with 2 diplo. And i have several doubts with them.

First Mjmd asked for military aliance so our border is safe. I like that but i dont trust him. I thought to send it nack and when we get HBR war peace him to be really safe on that border, also to make this lie into Ruffs eyes and kind of make him feel safer. But i dont know if thats correct. Maybe we should stay without that diplo so he still dont feel totally safe? i dont know.

   

Also Lazteuq wanted to overstep our borders and i didnt want him to. I dont want to give more free money, i dont know where he is, i guess after Noble because he came from that direction.

   

Whiped one worker on raspberry. Then will give a turn on barracs and then on axe.
I gave both deers to lingonberry so that city grows faster. What i dont know is if we shoudl whip units from there or it should be going full infrastructure whiping granary, barracs and all that stuf before going units. 
The capitol finished the chariot and now will prebuild an axe then a spear and then HA and finish all. 
I decided to move the worker to the forest to chop some units on blueberry. a couple more turns on barracs and then will go axe chariot.
Lemon will whip next turnt he worker and will prebuild the barracs next, then another axe.
Pomegranate, this is the city i doubt more, im not sure if we will crush our economy if i stop working on cottages and start full hamers to produce units. I think one of the mistakes i did on PB54 was not to whip hard and focus too much on not losing money rather than make a huge army and whip our neighbours down, that made the war longer more expensive and made us harder to win. So i think i will stop those cottages soon. Correct me if im wrong. now started prebuilding the axe and will end the dun some turns after, we dont really need the culture right now.
Finally grapes is getting the first hamlet next turn, and will work the quarry for more production, prebuilding axe spear after

So if my calcules are not wrong that would mean around 6 axes plus the 2 we already have, 2 spears plus the 2 we already have, a chariot plus the one we already have and then a bunch of HA, i expect at least 7-8 pure whiped out. then a bit of slow producing some more. And that would be in around 5-6 turns. What i dont really know now is if we should go with 1 stack of the mixture to the closest Madrid (this men... is he really calling all his cities Madrid????) Or if it would be better to go with axes and spears to the closest madrid and then move all the HA with 2 agresive workers roading to the hill next to his Capitol. First one warranty that we get that city, and then we can move forward to his capitol. The other option would be more likely to get 2 cities but with 8 axes im not really confident to get that city if it has 5-6 units. Right now he has an axe on the hill of plan 2.

       


On the rest of the things i saw, Noble and Mjmd got 10 cities already while civac stay with 9.

Demos and graphs, not much changes, Ruff seems to make some units once he saw that little spike we had some turns ago.

       

Im taking time to try to leave things clear, but if you feel i should talk or post something i didnt feel free to ask!

I think the reporting is great and very to follow. I have just been busy with holidays. Was out cycling today and just got back. I will start with the most important:

I think we should absolutely not declare war on mjmd in that case. We know that we are not to attack each other but Ruff do not. If we war-peace him Ruff can be certain that we want to attack him. If you distrust him you can fortify an extra archer in lemon.

I would read the signal from mjmd as: "I am content that I got away with grabbing so much land on our borders and do not want any more. I will give you a way to stay competitive by leaving you free to eat Ruff." This is of course self-serving as he does not have the economy anyway to pay for our cities in addition to all he grabbed. He does not want us to suicide into him spoiling his chances. Also he want his back free to grow his economy or attack his other neighbor. Still it is a deal that is useful to both of us so we should take it. Eating Ruff is how we remain competitive in the long run.

I would put the army in two stacks. 1) All our 1-movers. They gather behind grapes and the turn before we declare war they move into grapes. 2) All our 2 movers and 2 workers. The turn before we declare they move to the stone tile. To use a historical example: The 2-movers are the left hook of our Schlieffen plan whose goal is to take Paris as fast as possible. The 1-movers are there to draw his army into a defense of the front. the two-movers should be the priority.

The forces you mention looks good. I would time it so that we declare when we can get 7-8 horse archers and 2-3 chariots into the 2-mover stack. 8-Axes might not take his front city but every unit not needed to attack the capitol turn 2 of the war can be used against his border city as well.
