Well, I was assuming we'd go 2SE. 2SE is still a good option because it can reveal luxuries close to home which will be key if they exist...

Why does your capital have one food resource when Gavagai's capital has three?
I have to run.

Absolutely! We love you! As our rankings indicate. Clearly that's the equivalent of 1 food resource at our capital.

Yeah, that's my intent. I was just leaving it out there if Boldly, Azarius or someone else wanted to argue otherwise.

See what your slavish pestering as a teammate does, Noble? No more dedlurking/teaming with potential mapmakers in the future.

As ever, you're more than welcome, Ceil. Grab a chair and complain about the map, you'll be comfortable in no time. If you're looking for a place to start, there's a lovely comparison shot of ours and Gavagai's capitals a few posts up.[5]
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

2SE makes the most sense to me as well. The sooner you know if there is something up there you're racing for the better. Besides, you don't really want to see the gold and gems that are probably in the other side of his BFC anyways.

The only argument that I can make to move the scout N/NW is to delay his warrior. He could also open worker / worker with SO MUCH FOOD [7] so probably it is just best to scout SE and go from there.

Ok, one comment. Really? [8]
Two more SE next turn, I would think. Pottery is up next on the tech list simply because we need cottaging for our 3rd and 4th tiles. Noble and I played around with a handful of microplans and everything sucks because the geography of the capital is so awkward, which is what happens when you have a bunch of crappy lakes at your capital. [9] We toyed with the idea of growing to size 5 and only doing one worker before the settler, but what 5 tiles do you really want to work? [10] Its really not worth growing to put a forested plains hill in play. [11] We probably will still do Warrior > Warrior > Settler instead of the original Warrior > Worker > Settler simply because its better to have the multiple warriors in play especially since the area around the 2nd city site is also awkward and its also our original plan of whipping the settler to granary is not really that great because we can't get AH in time to settle the 2nd city if we also get BW.
In case there are any industrious lurkers, other things we've considered:
Settling the second city at the corn site instead of the pigs/sheep site.
Teching AH before BW and slow building the settler.
Other stuff not worth mentioning.
We're still kind of nowhere with it, which is unfortunate. We basically have until the Ivory is camped to figure it out, so around a week. While I suppose we can change that portion, I don't really see a logical alternative to Wheat Farm > GLH > Road GLH Hill > Ivory > Camp Ivory. Here's a shot of that area:
And here's the demos/scores. We have Gavagai's graphs now, but I'll save those for a turn where I have less to talk about.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?
