heading to bed, Ramk/cornflakes/Joshybravo963(aka sullla calling it now) have yet to play. I wont be around to add time if its needed, just a heads up!

But I am around if anybody needs more time. Also love that Sullla prediction.

This was the first turn that went (slightly) over 24 hours, so it's not like we have a serious problem yet, but I think we might need to establish some rules, also because for a game this size it might be necessary to handle these different to other games.
First off, while I enjoy < 12 hour turns at this state of the game as I suspect most do, of course everybody is entitled to make full use of their 24 hours, not here to question that.
So I think nobody has a problem with granting timer extensions if somebody is unavailable occasionally, moreso if it is just a few hours. I think it should be expected though to give a short notice here, so everybody is informed what's up. However if there is none, the turn should run through, or maybe only a short extension (2hrs or so) be set. If we regularly extend the timer by 12hrs+ when it seems like somebody could miss the turn we might as well play without a timer, but I think we also know that this is not healthy for the game, moreso with so many players.
Now if somebody needs an extension of 12 hours and doesn't make it a habit in my view that's ok, but please advise beforehand.
So in short, my proposed rule would be:- If you are unsure whether you are going to get to your turn, please give a short notice here and an extension should be no problem
- If there is no notice mods should, if at all, only set a short extension. If the player still doesn't show up the turn is missed, period.
Also superdeath wrote in one of his comments when he set a long extension that he did so because he was going to be unavailable himself. Maybe we need another mod in the American timezones so he can be relaxed about that? I think Cornflakes has been a mod in other games, would you be up for that here?
Also do we need a mod for the Asia/Pacific zones?

...TBS had added that when the timer runs low, global lurkers would be welcome to play. Which seems reasonable. Maybe we should make an effort to find a few global lurkers who would be willing to step in, if available. Also requires everybody to have their password in their threads' OPs.
Anyways, this time the turn was missed and that falls on the player. If this was not a very crucial turn for Joshy, or somebody else objects, I say we play on. Of course we can't make this a habit.

Should find a replacement for Joshy since this wasn't the first missed turn

That's not true, there were a few close calls where vanrober stepped in, but this was the first time they didn't play. I've PM'ed Joshy fwiw asking if everything's ok.
