It does. You can still work the tile though. Calendar is high on the agenda now with durs, banana, silk and spice.
That scoreboard looks horrible. We are truly North Korea in this game. But like NK we might be an unpalatable target. Maybe we get the time to repopulate the continent while they fight.

haha yeah. I've actually thought of that same North Korea analogy a lot. But yes there's... a *small* chance i could make a comeback if fight each other to a draw and give me time to resettle the continent. I can't beat them in a serious war, but I can at least discourage them from settling near me.

Started the turn by taking tours, very nice to finally get that city! Of course it's just size 1 and has no buildings, but it's still a good location.
Unfortunately that does stretch me thin on defense. I tried scouting with my workers and an archer, couldn't find his stack, so I moved in and saw this:
A little annoying, he can kill my workers if he wants to. But at least if he does that he has to sacrifice a musketeer. And it's good to finally get a read on where his stack is and just what he has left. 7 musketeers is certainly a threat, but not enough to stop me. *Probably* not enough to retake tours or Paris, but I should be careful about that.

2 arty and an axe for Paris, plus I can whip an AT there after next turn. 2 arty, 3 AT for tours.
I... think that's enough to defend? if I lose a city... that's very annoying but not a disaster. I'll just retake it.
in retrospect I probably should have just burned tours and not divided my forces so much.

back, after a week's delay for some travel/tech issues.
This was kind of a big turn, actually. Mr Cairo chose to attack my stack head-on. he killed an AT and my GG artillery, which is pretty frustrating. but, it's still a good trade for me, because it kills off all his remaining units so I can freely expand.
So yeah, just a warrior for him self in Marseilles. I wonder if he attacked me just to get the game over with faster...?
I have 2 settlers finishing this turn. My scout has also reached Scooter's land.

At some point the question is, do you want to survive 3 turns more, or make a splash one last time and kill the GG arty.
Congrats on the progress, now just need to figure out how to mount those artillery on galleys....

It makes sense. If you take his city he loses the units anyway. If he defends the city he will suffer massive collateral. This way he gets some sure damage in before he dies. Gg Cairo! Well defended Luddite.

Yeah, it makes sense. and thanks guys. this was one hell of a tough war. I still feel doomed in the overall game, but I'm glad I was able to pull this off when i really thought Cairo would kill me 50 turns ago. and yeah, GG Mr Cairo, for when you read this (hopefully soon!)
.
So... do I send of the artillery immediately? I've just now found 2 of Scooter's cities, I don't even know where Oxy is. Oxy has a comfortable lead in power, even though Scooter is whipping like crazy. I might need to send off my whole army immediately if there's any chance of saving Scooter and keeping them in a stalemate.
The funny thing is, it's possible one of them has already colonized my own continent. It's been ages since I scouted the west, and I never made it all the way to the coast.
