Werewolf 2 Lurker Thread: Spoilers!

Aftger a first skimming through the thread i say:

There have been an awful lot of coincidences in this game. I will not go as far as calling Gaspar cheating (like Kyan did). As it is i thought that Kyan was the cheater (with his most accurate post shortly before he got killed) and his rule-breaking return 3 days afterwards.
Not to speak about the strange occurance of MJW, Kyan, Luddite.
The absolute sureness everyone had about the others innocence and so on asf.

So the sum is The villagers have won so congrats on that.

Reading that Serdoa knew his role I must confess that I don't understand him one least bit. Had he not switched (and killed) to scooter we would have won the game.

Rowain - read the spoiler in this post I wrote a few pages ago:

Basically, he became 100% convinced that I was innocent.

Yep I really don't understand why he never contacted Selrahc or uberfish but ok.

The first half of this WW game was a bit of a farce due to all the metagame stuff and rules issues that occurred TBH. I do feel that village played better than wolves/possessed in the endgame though. So congratulations.

Thanks F&I for hosting anyway smile

@Rowain: my lynch turned out to be a fairly close thing so it was reasonable for Serdoa to hope that Sareln would get lynched and flip village, leaving me a confirmed wolf whom it'd be safe to contact.

zakalwe Wrote:Combined with the lack of restrictions on out-of-thread communication, the whole thing becomes more of an exercise in network building and trusting the right people, than an exercise in deduction and deception. In particular, it must be kind of unfun to play as a wolf when the villagers have two seers and are bound to find you very fast no matter how devious you are.

Sandover Wrote:Just had the same thought. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't enjoy playing this game much if I was still alive and left out of whatever networking is going on. Being a wolf under those circumstances seems more like a chore than anything else.

Yes exactly Day1 was fun. The rest was depressing. My statement concerning this was not a wolfish try to spin but a player utterly fed up with what he got into.

uberfish Wrote:Kyan = owl was leaked to someone else on day 2 IIRC (I thought this might be a lie at this point), then leaked to me day 4, then pretty much gave himself away publicly by talking so much about owl powers and insisting that wolves would kill him.
At the beginning of day3 Lewwyn Pm'd me telling me he is the 2nd Mason and spilling all the network (Kyan as owl, ssunrise , Gaspar and MNG as loose associates)

Roland Wrote:It's as if they know they've lost, so why even keep up the pretense.
Partly much that. Contrary to Lewwyns believe I was convinced we are dead once Kyan returned. I told scooter and Irgy both that we are most likely dead although they believed they could survive. Ironically if the possessed hadn't been a better villager than the whole rest we would have won.
Oh and the reasons scooter had outlined.
Additional: Had hap or Gaspar gotten lynched today I would have killed the other of those 2 leaving Lewwyn, Serdoa and myself for last day. Had Serdoa been on the chop Gaspar would have been my midnight-snack.

@uberfish: Selrahc was owl-scanned and had 12 votes or so going against him and he didn't contact him. You were seer-scanned and still he didn't contact you. Sorry for what did he wait? I mean a more clear ww can't happen. He didn't even try to contact one at the end.

One thing to clear. Serdoa was possessed. (= A villager and counting as such)
The Godfather is a different role: A wolf counted as wolf but scanning to the seer as villager

Rowain, as stated in the Game thread, it simply never occured to me. Surely bad play there. As also already stated sorry for losing us the game when I killed scooter. Thats for me the real bad play I did - though it was obviously only a follow up to me not contacting the wolves.

Some points from my point of view:

- I don't understand why Sandover claimed Seer on Day 1 with nearly the same words as PB. If I would have played villager, I would have voted for him.

- I don't understand why neither Selrahc nor uberfish tried to defend themselves. Of course they got scried but some self-defense at least. Sow doubts in the hearts of the village. Even if you die, if at least some villagers voted against lynching you, there is a better chance that those will get killed later on.

Of course that might be utter bullshit by me, because of not having any experience with this game as I played it the first time.

- I have really no idea why Gaspar suddenly understood how my role worked. I knowed that I have this role and still needed information from F&I do completely understand it. Though I don't think he cheated, but I am curious how he found out.

And that I find utterly unfair against me. I have defended the wolves more and took more blame for it then anyone else this game. You sound like I lost the wolves the game and that is - from my point of view - simply not true. I had my part in it but making it sound like I was the sole reason I think is not accurate.

Anyone who thinks I didn't defend myself or was a 100% obvious werewolf to the entire game really didn't pay attention to what happened on day 4.

I'm not sure what you wanted me to do. A seer claim was something we (I) ruled out early, possibly incorrectly. I massively undermined the case against me as a pack of lies, but there was no realistic second target to spill into a lynch. That left me two options, either mindlessly repeat that the case against me is based on a pack of lies, or change my position and start fabricating evidence against someone.

I definitely could have done better, I went silent for a day because I was pretty busy with some essay deadlines which probably didn't help. But I didn't do nothing, and pretty much anything I could have added would be to repeat myself that the case against me was a pack of lies.

Uberfish though I think did a pretty good job of defending himself, to the point where the village almost lynched Sareln of all people. I'd rate that as quite a good defence.
