I strongly urge us to PASS. We weren't sure last time. We know there are two "Beelzebub" clues left (unless STOOL was one, which I can't see), but we're also clutching at the thinnest of straws to make any connection.

Our only guess is IVORY and I'm not even particularly happy with this (more so now, due to lack of options/alternatives).

Apple - cant really see the connection
New York - Is there a famous person called Gene from New York?
Pool - Gene Pool seems a clear connection
Joy - Cant see anything
Ivory -again nothing
Part - your genes are part of you
washer - nothing
jupiter - nothing

fair - genes can give you fair (blonde) hair?
slip - do genes 'slip' to give mutations?

Hmm. First thing to notice is that we have seven words guessed and Zakalwe is cluing two. That suggests I was wrong about APPLE. If Zak wanted us to guess it, he'd have just given us a clue for one word instead of two. Branches was therefore probably Maple/Forest/Glove.

Gene POOL I'm confident in.

After that I'm not seeing much of anything. A Gene is a PART of your DNA, maybe? JUPITER was notorious for contributing his genes to a lot of mortal offspring? You put your jeans in a WASHER, but that's a homonym and I think technically illegal?

hmm if we get these 2 thats 9 correct which gives us the round. assuming my 2 spoilt preferences are right I still cant see the answer to branches 3

POOL seems like a clear #1.
I think some scientist did genetic experiments with APPLEs, but not sure on this.

@Mardoc - Zak giving two clues is probably a good argument against APPLE.

Maybe we should be looking at other suggestions to see if there's a better clue for them:
Jupiter + Pool - ?
New York + Pool - Hustler?
Part + Pool - Filter?
Slip + Pool - Deck?
Fair + Pool - ?

Grillo, I think you can safely point at pool if you are happy when you turn up

Assuming we like POOL and PART, if you clued filter I would go POOL and WASHER as it cleans the water
pump you are risking WASHER as in the thing around the bolt as well as the pump SLIPping

If we think glove couldhave been an answer to branches then i am happy going part as the 2nd answer
