[SPOILERS] This Land is Your Land, This Land is My Land. But Mostly Mine.

T187

The rare update where I'm actually reporting the current turn before it rolls...

Got another one. I lost two battles, one around 80% and the other at ~88%. I can't really complain, I've won a lot of 65-75% battles. Shrug.

Does anyone actually care what buildings survive the invasion? Is there another picture you'd rather I show that I have not been showing? Does asking a third consecutive question make the sequence of questions more dramatic? Yes!!

Dazed died, then hammer time. I'm also pillaging tiles that are destined for workshop goodness.

The race is on! I had assumed that dtay had enough problems on his hands but his situation must have stabilized. Good for him. Is he going to go for the GS at Physics (and airships for recon and air strikes to help his defensive posture) or lose the race to Communism and the GSpy? Stay tuned! I'm really hoping I don't end up eating my words here.

My GNP is going to turn some heads if it hasn't done so already. I just hope that the map is vast enough to allow distant powers (non-contender division) to continue to want to deal with me if mutually helpful situations arise. All politics is local, as they say, and I want to stay engaged in trade and diplomacy as much as possible. I doubt I'd be able to beat dtay to Communism without that cash infusion from my recent subscribers. smile

I don't think I've put this screen up recently. I've killed a lot of longbows and built a lot of libraries/RIs/Observatories. Eventually I should have the same number of all of those. Twelve stables seems to be a little high, but I've got good production cities and want to build lots of Cossacks so I guess it's ok. I love forges. I don't know if I've mentioned that yet. mischief

Still whittling. I'll heal up and then go for another round of attacks. If this keeps up too much longer I'll actually be able to build airships. Q, I wish I could do it a little faster but it is what it is. alright

23 captured workers... Holy!

How many golden ages have you fired already?

How long until you kill the other red player so I can stop getting confused?

I hadn't reflected on the worker captures, but now that you mention it that does seem like a lot. yikes

Wetbandit is the annoying red blight on the map but I don't know how much further OH/Fin will allow me to rampage before they start making me play honest with real troops nearer to home. Executing two simultaneous invasions has possibly given them an idea to wreck me without further provocation, so I need to prepare for that. Wetbandit probably has to wait to die until I secure the homeland(s). And I also need to consider whether he is a better acquisition target than Ruff. Probably wetbandit is more profitable from a geographic standpoint so I can leave a buffer next to Krill/novice.

I have fired my one and two-man GAs in addition to landing Taj. I am sitting on a GE, GM, GA, and 2 GS (spawned one last turn in my NE city) and hope to add the GSpy in a couple of turns. I can fire my 3-man GA anytime, and have been able to since the end of my last GA whenever that was (~30 turns ago?), but I'm doing well enough without it and I don't want to race far ahead because 1) tall poppy syndrome and 2) the free GA civic swaps are somewhat of a hedge against building TOO MUCH MILITARY too soon because I can fire the GA and swap to Nationhood and use the GA hammer bonus to churn out a quick defensive pile of bodies if I need to. If I invade wetbandit rather than consolidate my forces, OH/Fin may declare on me and force me to do just this. They have seen my GP stack. I carelessly/didn't care if they saw the GPs let their scout stumble upon them sitting in my capital. I have since relocated them away from his prying eyes in case they get a notion to commando-raze my capital but they know I have them stockpiled. I hope this will discourage them from attacking me because they know the attack will be terribly unprofitable for both of us, but they may well come out worse in the exchange. But I'll build a navy in any case. I'll also be building a better defensive garrison for my most important cities soon, possibly as soon as I finish the sprint to Communism and can afford to cancel the massive wealth builds.

This requires a longer post and I'm out of time on my workday penalty kill. I'll try to do some sort of ranking tomorrow. If enough lurkers spam this thread, of course. popcorn

Ask the oligarchy. cry My guess:

If Republican candidates like Mitt Romney are starting to pile onto the social inequality bandwagon then I like Hillary Clinton's chances. Republicans should lose the social inequality argument over Democrats roughly 10 out of 10 times. And, conservatives hate Mitt Romney. Jeb Bush may be too liberal to win the Republican nomination. If you want a serious answer, this is about as good as an answer gets this far out from the election. Be prepared for some serious nerding out. read

If the major ticket is Bush vs. Clinton I'm going to be forced to write in Ross Perot.

I like that!

Also, that makes me shudder. What a horrible political class we have created.
