[PB61 spoilers] vanrober lonely in a green field

So lets start.

In the begining of the turn i just saw Josh took my scouting galley somehow, i thought it was save, but it was the one i sued to see Jack's land, in case i would use jack land as a gold farm of GM, but i didnt use GM for that.

It was empty and i just wanted to see if he was bringing a navy towards my main land. Now its killed so i dont know, im trying to see carefully all the units he produce to se if that is happening or not.

He left my injured cuirs and all that healing, so he could heal his stack too. I was thinking about atacking again, but i felt like i would lose too much doing so. Instead i decided to hide the stack and prepare an atack on berlin or Cologne without him knowing where is it going to be. I think he cannot defend Cologne anyhow, i have ~15 cuirs full health ready to hit next turn.

In Bananacity, i atacked with cats, and i started making more in my crapy cities, i wanted to save my trebs just in case i need for another city. This is the front right now, i need to decide what to do with the city and im still unsure, i left the turn to think a bit about it. I am thinking on taking the city to kill that pike and start forking cities that are just defended by axes. He has no cats in that area so i feel confident with holding the city short term. Im unsure if josh would lose the tile im standing on or not, if he is not i couldnt hit the pike with the axe or xbow and my plan would fail. So if you guys could tell me it would be appreciated.

So the question is: If i conquer the city the culture of the hill my army is on will be neutral for the rest of the turn? or will it be still josh? If you need further info just tell me

In the south, he is comming with the navy i already told you, and i have prepaired a surprise for him. Im staying right in front of him with 3 trirremes with combat 1 in coast so he is losing terribly if atackign with his unpromoted trirremes, he is unable to use those 4 knights, but even if he could use them, i have 3 longbows and im making a pike and another longbow just in case i need, and if i would still need i finish 3 cuirs too able to come to this part too. So i feel good about this.

The problem, as always is bellarch, he is goign to have ~3.5kgold for his GA, thats much more than enough to get to the tech he wants, also look at Jack land, "all" towns, remember he is not yet in GA and he is Fin to see the quality of the land, he doesnt have PP yet, but yeah, those cities are much better than mines, once his GA starts he will be ahead of me in hammers and gold im afraid. So I need to get good cities other wise he won.

Bing retreated his stack, i guess eh saw there was a castle in that city and he could do less than atacking the other city, i asked peace to him atacking bellarch, and then white peace, im sure he is not taking the peace, but who knows.... Bellarch has completely empty Jack coast, he could really take all that part for him, that might be his best winning options, if he has any.

Finally demos and graphs, i lost too many units when josh recaptured Berlin, and that was completely avoidable, either putting all cuirs in the city or emptying it so that i could recapture afterwards. But i didn none of this options and lost a ton. The only good knew i see is that i got a Scientist and put an academy in Lily, it was a hard decision since Daisy has more research right now, but once i stop being in Rep it will lose a bunch of that, so since Lily had more base commerce i prefered to settle it there, also its going to be harder for josh to take lily than daisy.

Thanks! I did!

I don't know the answer to your culture question, unfortunately. Cultural ownership always seemed like black magic to me. Perhaps somebody else knows?

Good luck!

I was leaving home so i finished my turn, i simed a bit and it was clearly dependant on culture, but the thing i saw was that getting the city, when you have to choose what to do with it you already see if that tile is or not neutral. So i did that, and doing so, it looked like this:

So now my decision had to be whether to get the city or not, and i finally decided to get it, i couldnt kill the pike, okey, but he cannot reinforce the rize city good either. And also once i get the culture i can hit several cities from that one, so i though it could be a good strategic point, in case i dont care about it anymore, i can let him capture and then raze it. And at least he lsot several building in that city, also it was nicer to keep the units in the city. I think he cannot really atack, so i guess he will just defend from here, but once i heal (really soon since i brought the GGhealer he will have to deal with my cuirs again, he has no collateral yet, and if he start defending this land he wont defend the other land, so i think its fine, i can hit him from the fog to retake in the worst case... So now i just need to make sure i can defend from the 10sh knights of bellarch and all the onemover junk he will bring with.

Also i left some cuirs in case he empty rize city to get it from Marigold

Culture after city capture is a black art, but as I understand it:

If the tile is under the cultural influence of at least one city, culture will be re-calculated on that tile. If the tile has never had any other culture (of live civs) on it, it will not revert to neutral until the next turn.

I might be wrong on that though.

Thanks tarkeel. I dont mind if i have it or not next turn the important thing was this turn to fork dye city and the one behind it. Now i think he wont atack this city with the pikes and muskets and longbows in the city. Also cuirs. That was the reason of keeping it.

Mu doubt was because the hill was in bf of rize. And it seems that was important.

Not sure if anyone care, but im going now to bed at 5:35am, since i needed to see Sandor Martin vs Mikey García. Crazy fight, my heart was going with Sandor, but i truly thought Mikey would destroy the fight. Im really really happy for Sandor and spanish boxing. What a nice night.

Turn 166

Interesting turn, but this time not only for the thinking needed, its beacuse i changed my mind, im the clear favourite to win, and i realized now. Ill try to explain why in this report.

To start, Josh moved the units of Berlin towards his core, since i took Banana city and i could push towards his empty cities. Thats why i thought that he should have retreated instead of reconquer Berlin.

So i could take Cologne, average rolls, and lost afterwards a 90% fight against a sentry knight. I won a 45% odds fight before, so i guess its fine.

And then i realized that i can push and fork his gem city and Munich really easy, both are empty and the only defenders are in Berling and thats too far from any of the cities. So im getting gains in this war 100%, i felt in a stale mate for so long, and now that i killed most of his stacks i feel much more free.

Indeed in 2 turns i heal all my stack of banana city, and that means 17 cuirs ready to hit Dye city if i want, or maybe moving them towards his core, he is lacking cats right now, which means my cuirs can freely go without "anti-pikes". So right now Josh is in huge trouble. Bellarch noticed this and started moving "his stack" (7 knights) towards Joshland, and that means my new city: Honeysuckle II is safer right now.

The only issue is Bing, he has more than 60 units in his stack and i am lacking hitters, althoug my hitters are much more quality than his, so i upgraded some knights into cuirs and moved 3 cuirs that were supposed to go towards banana city, im still lacking hitters but if he waste the next 2 turns not atacking ill start drafting rifles and hold forever. Bellarch is improving his land with roads, making him easier to fork both of my cities but i can hold wherever he goes i think. So i feel more confident about my possition, also because Bellarch is not threating to come in that front either, he seems to try to hold Josh instead.

Also my production become godlike, im going to change even some not worked cottages into watermills to keep outproducing people. Really, now i feel confident about outproducing them. Ill have less cav units but the quality upgrade from cuir to cav is so much worth. So the question is, will i go steel or upgrading cuirs afterwards? And i really have no answer for that yet, cannons is a better answer for long term and upgrading is better short term, my gut is on cannons, but i could see the other option working too.

This is what i meant with huge production, making cuirs in 2 turns in most places without PS, imagine having cavs in 3 turns forever, its going to be crazy good.

This is a global view of the land:

Im sorry ,i thought i had a picture of my stacks too... But somehow i forgot, There is 15 cuirs, 5 knights, 2 muskets a xbow an axe and 3 trebs in banana city. And there is 5 cuirs full health in Cologne, 1SE cologne i have 6 cuirs pretty injured and in Primrose, i have several injured cuirs, and a injured longbow and a injured cat, and a full health cuir.

Turn 167

Josh started GA too, i have no investigation in his cities so i didnt expect. Eventhough he did so, his production is crap, around 300. So i dont think he can do anything else. I need to leave home now, so ill play before dinner. Its almost done, i just need to think a bit more.

Bing sacrificed a keshik and a sentry chariot to see my stack, poor guy, he has just axes in sight, so i think its fine for me. In 2 turns ill put a couple of riflemens that will demoralize even more Bing.

I dont think ill be able to amke a good report today, but it didnt happen that much, im just healing.
