Poor Kjn..
I can manage. You can get plenty of raw data out of APTmod and Civstats alone.

We were able to see all tiles that could have hit our stack, and we didn't need the forested hill to do that. If we had a mace on that hill and spied their stack 2tiles north (or nothing at all)... so what? You're also ignoring the fact that we don't have Engineering, therefore the only way to get a Mace onto that tile this turn would have been to walk him right up to the border when we were trying to at least mostly attack out of the fog, so it's not like there's 0 downside to doing it.
I agree. Totally. I'm not trying to be negative here. I've said multiple times that I think that we played a good first turn.
Quote:edit: also look, we've had this plan in place for WEEKS. There was plenty of time to make that suggestion. Hours after it happened is not really that time.
That is a valid point. I can see the point of putting a unit on that forested hill now ... but I didn't think of it before. Not once. If I had thought of it, I would have posted about it.
My point is that others on the team did think of it but it wasn't publicly posted / mentioned until there was nothing we could do about it. If the comment had come 1 or 2 turns earlier, we could have pushed 1 mace forward 1 tile and now have it sitting on that very hill.
Sure - putting it 1 tile north of the main stack would have shown it to the Germans but ... so what. They knew we had maces. Showing them 1 wouldn't have changed anything.

I'm not complaining. I thought that we played a good first turn (I think that is 4 times that I have said this now). Sure, I pointed out a couple of things that I would have done differently ... the aim of pointing them out was so that we could examine our play and improve. I'm pretty sure that if someone provided some improved micro they wouldn't draw this response. I'm just trying to participate in the game and if you guys find my comments of no value then let me know and I'll cut them down.

In other news, CivFr has set off a Golden Age. I'm not sure the war with CFC is going to be phony. Have we reached out to them and asked why? Have we asked CFC?
Also - we had two teams cancel OBs with us recently - have we reached out and asked them about it?

Scooter has done everything but ask CFC about the war. We haven't heard back from CivFr, CP have admitted they don't want a NAP and depending on relative power they'll dogpile with CFC (we're trying to persuade them that in that case we'll cripple them between 170 and 175, in order to get at least a few turns to neutralise CFC), and CFC has signalled that it's war on t175 if they can make the party.

Yes and no. Scooter sent a message to CivFr. I'm not sure if we'd get a good answer out of CFC.

Scooter had a long chat with CivPlayers on that, and the other cancelled OB was with the Germans.
Good catch on CivFr's golden age, though they haven't revolted yet - maybe they plan to research Philosophy and adopt Pacifism to get a slew of great people. On the other hand, they're at war, so perhaps Theology for Theocracy instead? Or they simply want the increased production? The timing's mighty strange in any case.

I think the turn took a nice amount of time, really. We had more or less hashed out everything in the forum earlier.
Once we find the main German stack and are about to do battle against it, I think we will discuss things a lot more. Another thing we can do is to move scouting units very early in our turnset, and then we have that intel available for first a forum discussion and when then stream starts.

We got a message back from CivFr ...

We had a great merchant which was travelling to CFC capital. We had warm them long time ago and they did agree, but now at one turn from ending his journey, they declare war treacherously to prevent him from doing his mission.
Thank you for your assistance proposition, and we would like to hear what you can propose. May be could you declare war at their back to divide their army, or give gold to help us counter their forces?
Best regards,
Mayans

It doesn't even make sense. He wants some undisclosed RB logger-inner to not set up his firewall to do what exactly? Not work? Maybe it is the CFC's firewall that is 'wrong'?
