I like the idea of sending those chariots. Though I wouldn't mention it to CFC just yet. As soon as those chariots enter their territory, they'll get the picture.
If you know what I mean.

Hmm, the CFC pillaging might not be all that critical.
After taking Worms, there are only very few neutral tiles revealed. (check Sullla's T152 turn report for a cultural border map after Worms is gone.) I see one village (?) SW of Worms that could be pillaged. And the floodplains 1NW of Wasserburg, which we want to farm over anyway. Since the Germans have Longbows now, we might not be able to blitz Webringen (their capital) and Worms (at size 2 likely after we take it), might be already out of revolt before we capture Webringen and by then securing some of the towns. mh

We should warn WPC, that they will likely face promoted longbows if they don't hurry up.

Quick chat to update on the pillaging situation

That would certainly be the prudent thing to do if they want any chance for peace after T175. Good job.
Hehe. Would love to see CivFr snipe those dyes from CFC.

So, what do we even say to WPC? Seriously, I'm at a loss. They seem intent on capturing that useless tundra city, which will be pretty meaningless. I guess we could ask them to turn around and try that city again?
Yes, please tell them to do that. Their move north screwed both ourselves and them over horribly. The best possible move is to completely reverse course, and retake the same hill they gave up last turn. We cannot have them moving further into the tundra. If they are poised outside Warendorf, the Germans at least have to keep an honest force up there.
This is extremely important. If I see them in-game, I'll tell them myself.
Hmm, the cynic in me says they're just moving up to pillage the capital in preparation for that falling. The town northwest of Wasserburg is going to become available to pillage this turn, but they didn't know that when they moved. Still, if I was them, I'd have waited to see if we would capture Worms this turn because pillaging a town is as good as it gets.
They're clearly at least conflicted about it. If they knew they weren't going to pillage anymore, they'd have told us that. I think that when they get the dyes, we should cancel the ivory and buy it from CFC, with the understanding that this means getting back on amenable terms aka no more pillaging or trading with war targets. Maybe we could talk about this deal immediately. If they actually aren't interested in pillaging anymore, they'll jump at it. Heck, if they aren't interested in pillaging anymore, they'll be happy to agree to the 2nd half immediately to get us to break the ivory deal now and prevent a few more elephants from appearing, but I would dangle the dyes purchase in front of them for that. They won't take just the second half without the dyes purchase, because that will feel like giving in to us. The dyes purchase is their extra incentive to make up for some of the pillage money lost. The structure of the deal I'd like to see is we overpay somewhat on the gpt as necessary (I have no idea what a fair value is) to get them to agree to no pillaging, but we make it a 10t deal cancelled by either team after that, so we can get our dyes for free from WPC after 10 turns, rather than having to buy CFC dyes until turn 175. As for WPC, they're just totally screwed. I don't know if I want to offer them any advice at all, because when they fail, I don't want them to be able to blame it on us. Frankly, their best move is probably to go home now that vassalage longbows have hit the field, or hang around and wait for us to march up and hand them their 2 border cities and clean out the rest, but they're not going to want to hear either of those suggestions. Fake edit: Oh, did they specifically ask us for advice? I guess we have to give them our best suggestion then. (June 18th, 2013, 09:56)scooter Wrote: So, what do we even say to WPC? That the Germans now will whip out double-promo longbows, and that we'd appreciate it if they could try to bring maximum pressure against Warendorf? (Not that they can do that now, given how they've split their forces...) The sad thing is that I've logged in several times when their turn player has been online, and tried to start a conversation about planning, but never got any response.
