That tends to happen anyway, lol.

I'm just afraid that 50 turns down the road some losing team decides they'd rather not see us win and starts gifting all their gold to CFC or CivFr, and when we call them on it, they cite this.
Please do not do this. This is a can of worms that should stay firmly shut.

On top of that, the Spanish have exactly 16 gold in the bank right now. There's really no point.

Yeah good points, the precedent is not one we want to mess around with. I'll drop that idea.

Anyone have a problem with taking the Spanish offer of 36g and 22gpt?

It is not much money, but on the other hand, not taking it because we don't want to set a precedent is not going to prevent others from doing similar things in the future.

I would decline it anyway. It may not stop other teams from doing it, but if we do it it may be an encouragement for other teams to offer the gifts. Or any rationale aside, it feels gamey to me so I'd rather not.

Why didn't we bring this up during the pre-game stage? This whole situation is pretty dumb.
Is it too late to discuss it if we really don't want other teams doing it?

I do not think that we should take this gold, and I also suggest that we push for all of the teams to ban this kind of behavior. Gifting "spiteful gold" from a team that's about to be eliminated has the potential to cause major imbalances in the gameplay, as we know from our own early Pitboss games. If we take a stand now to oppose these gifts, when we are the ones benefitting, we'll have a much better chance of convincing everyone else to disallow this in the future. It's obvious cheese and poor sportsmanship.
