Another turn. Another battle, another city lost for Scooter. I'll get 2 more cities in the next 2 turns.

I really wish I could do something more directly. The power gap between them continues to widen. But most of my cities are still a long way from being able to make units.

I wonder if it would be worth teching monotheism and getting Organized Religion? I don't have many religions yet, but it would be nice to spread them without monasteries and also get a production bonus. On the other hand, high upkeep would be brutal.

Could we see a wider picture of your continent with your settlement plans? Seems like you have a vast area to claim.

Toooons of space. I'm going next for the gold in the NE, and the jungle rice/dye in the center. After that, I don't know- maybe the Oases nearby? I don't have a real detailed plan, I'm just winging it. There's room for at least a dozen more cities here, and more if I go after the islands.

I think it makes sense to prioritize hills, since I'm expecting to have to defend against naval attacks, so having the city on a hill is the best way I can boost my defense.

Yeah... Scooter stole that island while I was still busy with the war. I suppose I could go steal a spot on his island now that he's lost so many cities...
My starting scout died early and I just didn't have a chance to build anything for scouting.

The southwest seems like a priority to scout. You want to find the distance and attack angles from which oxy can come and later put some units there for early warning.

You need currency and code of laws first though to settle your island. Organized religion is not a bad idea. You could aim to get it in a golden age and focus on spreading your religion. Getting cheaper buildings is good but what might really help in a final battle is to get extra promotion on ships/units from theocracy.

If you want Scooter to slow down Oxy I would not attack Nidaros. If Oxy wins the war then Nidaros is very hard to defend. Settling on hills seems prudent. You can also settle off the coast.

Well, Oxy got to Chemistry thanks to the Kremlin accelerating things.  If he picked Combustion instead, he wouldn't have that.

Combustion and hoping for the event that shows oil VERY early in the game would be an interesting, yet risky choice

Rough turn for Scooter this turn... Oxy took two of his cities, and kept both of them. Also a GG born, most ilkely to Oxy. I still haven't found the actual frontline, but I'm worried that war might be close to a tipping point. time to gift Scooter my units??? or just let it be, and let this game end naturally. I founded another city in the north and it sunk my economy from +35 to +24, so I might have to hold off on making new cities for a while.

I did discover this GG galleon from Scooter. an 8 move, galleon, wow! you don't see that every day. I wonder if he has any plan for it.

I am not sure if uniform gifting is allowed in this game but I would have said no by default for all rb games just by remembering the reactions of rb players from mass unit gifting in the German huge game played recently (mind you it was just gifting basic axes and chariots not artilleries )

Hmm that's a good point. I don't think we ever discussed it in the signup thread. So technically there's no rule against it, but I don't want to do it if it will piss people off.

Also I'm not sure I would really do it anyway, it's just an idea I'm tossing around in my head. It's funny- until recently I only had 4 cities and my options of what to do were so limited. Now I have a lot more options, but I don't see any that will really make a difference.
