Yeah no map trade. Deffo get on there ASAP!
I like your ideas but I went in and optimised their execution. We have an archer in MCG 1 hammer from completion that I switched to as it loses unhappy this turn, so it can grow and then continue it's settler.
EA should probably not whip for 1 pop. We have too much food and not enough hammers/happy there, even though we only get 25ham/pop. I changed it back to the library. Then we can 2 pop whip it next turn, and 1 turn an archer or axe or spear with the overflow and chop, or go for a worker.
Finally RB should grow to size 3 before building the worker. It can work the cottage tile for a turn and a 1/1/1 tile on the turn of the chop to still get the worker out on the turn of the chop.
Otherwise good going!

Ok no pb your micro is way better than mine anyway. The problem I can see now is that we'll need to keep garrisons east and west which will slow us down

Nah it's fine, good ideas in general. We also saved having to whip CN which is nice. It can take the caps corn after and slow build another settler I reckon, after 2 pop whipping a library and grow to 4 the next turn (if that makes sense)

Turn is played, there was nothing particularly interesting. Dreylin got some culture in our way in the west so I went around the island to make sure there was no other resource there, and there were none. Library is double whipped in the cap and I kept the archer in MCG, if somehow GJ attacks (unlikely considering the low number of units he has) 2 archers should be enough.

New turn played - notedreylin and HAK are at war as of last turn. Gotta colonise fast when their attention is elsewhere! Are you happy with my dotmap? I think it gives a nice spread of the resources. Galley loaded with a set and worker. plan is to put them both on the island and then come back for the other settler next turn. Settle the sugar site first and then the plains hill after. The worker can go to the forest hill and road/chop it before getting the sheep online.
Moved the tiles around a fair bit to get everything working optimally. Both EA and CN are at their happy cap. I put 2 scientists working in EA as a GP would be nice and it saves us happy issues.
Cap will get a spear, as they are more useful without promos I find. Changed to worker in RB. SC getting an archer. There is quite a lot going on actually, maybe best to log in and see. I think MCGs settler should go up to the northern isle. The pig copper site is rather powerful.

Ok, I'll take a look tomorrow (no civ access today). The hak dreylin war is good if it's a really long term one where it makes dreylin want an ally on the other side

HAK's war with Dreylin is probably a scouting WB war now that I look at the map. I decided to send the WB north because south would have forced us to declare. Note that Dreylin/OT4E built the colossus, and that mackoti got a great engineer from the pyramids. Ouch. Maybe the HGs next ? More likely the MoM. Last foreign news, I didn't notice GJ had another hindu spread, we should plan for a great prophet at some point.
Domestically, I went for an archer in EA that'll be needed on the western island. The settler/worker duo was put down on the sugar, next turn we have another city (unless there's a wolf 1N2W of the sugar, that would be bad). Courtois is going east to cottage at MCG. We'll have a small dilemna next turn, where CN will be unhappy with the possibility to triple-whip the library with 17 overflow or wait one more turn and double whip with 4 overflow. Granary in wembley should be whipped next turn if I'm not mistaken about granary mechanics (it's at 4/26 food, +4fpt).

I went with the triple whip, we're currently using the fish corn and silver to grow back in two. Santiago Barnabeu is up and we have our ICTRs so currency is actually in 3 turns. I've just realized that I haven't whipped the granary in Wembley so I'll head back in. 3rd power rise by GJ in the past few turns, still not enough to warrant a whip of defenses but we should keep building units just in case.
Edit : done, and the settler is on the galley. I shifted the tiles because Wembley couldn't work the village any more so it's passed to the cap until CN or WS can take it back again. EA can take the lake back when that's done.

Cool. Had a bit of a busy weekend, good on for playing.
With the granary mechanics, it fills the turn it is built, so optimum play is to get it built at the eot when the bar is half full. Note you only get the food from the next turn in it, not the food that goes into the bar when the thing is built. So we probably should have waited a little bit, but it isn't game breaking. There is an argument for whippping sooner anyway to start the whip anger count decreasing.
With the settler drop off, for next time note that you didn't actually need to put him on the sugar. The tile east of it would have allowed us to found the city the same turn still, kept him safer from possible barbs and allowed us to settle the next city a turn sooner. But it is a mild point to make, with extra embark/disembark moves. You can properly abuse things like this with galleon chaining which can move units infinite tiles per turn, limited by the amount of galleons you have.
I will be interested to see what mackoti goes for. He is china though, and loves a war. Get the cheaper MC, bulb machinary and cukono england away? Probably a bit too far apart for that yet but still.
I haven't looked in, but we should start rearranging our troops so the spear goes to MCG and we pull the archers out of there for the new island cities.

Too bad about the granary. As you've noticed I'm not super comfortable with the optimizing of boat movement
I've heard he likes the MoM but maybe you're right and he'll stomp someone with chukonus.
