Werewolf 13: Lurker Thread [No Live Players]

waterbat Wrote:@thestick: We were apparently born from the same newbie wolf genes. Funny to read your thread and think wow i thought the same thing about 20 times. You even had your own crackpot 3.3.3 theory!

What kind of thoughts are those? I'd like to hear.

@Injera: That is a funny coincidence!

@Bigger: Strange how you seemed convinced in the game thread that I was a wolf, when in the wolf thread you thought I was a villager. Also funny how your reasoning in the game thread was the actual reasoning you used. I honestly thought it was faked.

Oi, this game was great! Not sure if it was fun though... Fearing for your life every day, knowing that one slip up means death, isn't such a good situation to be in.

First of all: when did I venture from 'suspicious' to 'wolf'? Second of all, did I play well? I have no clue. On one hand, I pinged on everyone's radar. On the other hand, I wasn't nightkilled.

I'm starting to think that a good strategy for these multipack games is to be too innocent to lynch but too guilty to nightkill. Say almost nothing and leave someone more suspicious than you alive to get lynched tomorrow. Could be completely wrong, though.

In retrospect, I probably should've pushed Bigger's lynch more. I didn't think the village would buy it. I guess I thought the lynch was a forgone conclusion and didn't push it. Oops. I also shouldn't have done that Day 1 stuff, but then again, you've got to make the stupid mistakes sometime, better get them out of the way in the beginning. For the record, that actually was a 'new player' mistake.

The anonymous game sounds fun! I wonder who will actually spend the time to analyze the person's speech patterns. I also think that the kills should be by fake name, otherwise there will be too many kills based on having a good name alone. I'm also finding it weird how much is connected to a name.

Yeah, that was a really good catch by Bigger. He played a great game, the only glaring mistake he made was claiming seer I think. Having read the Short Wolves thread now I wouldn't have prioritized a village win over a Short Wolf win in the event that I couldn't win myself.

That's why I defended you at the time, and why I hope people will continue to offer newbie protection. I've said it before, but it takes time for new players to find their voice in these games.

For me, I didn't suspect you much at all except by process of elimination until Bigger claimed. It's funny, a lot of my play revolved around the assumption that the alpha wolves wouldn't claim unless they had proof, though both of them did indeed claim without proof.

Bigger did have proof on Rowain. He just made up the scries on Thestick and Sareln. smile
If you know what I mean.

Right, I was referring to thestick claim not the seer claim. It's funny, thestick "read" was probably the single most important wolf catch in the game along with Ichabod's read on me, but in the end they both helped let the Tall pack win more than anything else. It's better to be lucky than good. lol

Yeah, the village had horrible luck actually catching wolves. Erick was a half wolf, and the other wolves pretty much killed themselves. (Do I fit in the latter?) It's strange that the village lynched four wolves in a row and still didn't win.

No early pack eliminations really hurt a lot there.

In fact 3 wolves died at night, 4 got lynched and still the village lost. I fail to see what the village could have done to prevent the loss and that means to me that the game was not balanced.

In this game the village was clearly what a village is to wolves: food wink and little else.

Maybe next game will allow multiple lynches per day, to quickly get every "lynch me!" player out of the game lol GG wolves.

K I finished the write-ups and I'm going to put all the role PMs in here.

Role List:
3 Alpha
3 Beta
3 Sleepers
2 Silver-Blooded
2 Masons
8 villagers

Alpha:
Alpha * Wolf – You are an Alpha Wolf. Because of your position as pack leader of the * Wolves you have multiple abilities. Your pack mate is:

Devil Scan – Each night you may scan a target and discover their alignment and power.

Night Kill Immunity – You cannot be night killed.

Into Battle – If the Beta Wolf of your pack dies you may discard your Devil Scan and Night Immunity powers at anytime and gain the ability to kill every night, however at no time may you regain your abilities.

You may discuss with your wolf pack here:

Wolf Knowledge – As a wolf you are privy to secrets of the night. You know that there are two other packs besides your own. You also know that they consist of an Alpha and Beta Wolf like your own pack.

Win Condition – You win when all other wolf packs are defeated and your pack has equal to or more members than the villagers. Additional Draw conditions occur if multiple wolves are alive with no ability to kill or lynch.

Beta:
Beta * Wolf – You are a Beta Wolf. As a soldier in the * Wolf pack you have a night kill ability. Your pack mate is:

Kill - Each night you may choose a target and kill them.

You may discuss with your wolf pack here:

Win Condition – You win when all other wolf packs are defeated and your pack has equal to or more members than the villagers. Additional Draw conditions occur if multiple wolves are alive with no ability to kill or lynch.

Zeta:
You have been attack and turned. You are now a Zeta wolf.

Zeta * Wolf - You are a Zeta Wolf. As a soldier in the * Wolf pack you have a night kill ability, but may only kill if the Beta wolf of your pack is dead and the Alpha wolf cannot kill. Your pack mate is:

Kill - Each night you may choose a target and kill them.

You may discuss with your wolf pack here:

Wolf Knowledge -As a wolf you are privy to secrets of the night. You know that there are two other packs besides your own. You also know that they consist of an Alpha and Beta Wolf like your own pack.

Win Condition - You win when all other wolf packs are defeated and your pack has equal to or more members than the villagers. Additional Draw conditions occur if multiple wolves are alive with no ability to kill or lynch.

Killer Alpha:
Killer Alpha Wolf - You are a Killer Alpha. You have abandoned your generalship of the pack in favor of tasting blood first hand. As a front-line soldier your only ability is killing.

Kill - Each night you may choose a target and kill them.

Your win condition remains the same.

Unique Wolf Knowledge:

Fat Wolf Knowledge – In addition to the above knowledge your pack has sniffed around the village and discovered that there are villagers susceptible to your bite. These sleeper villagers will not die if you attack them at night and will instead join your pack.

Tall Wolf Knowledge - In addition to the above knowledge your pack has sniffed around the village and discovered that there are villagers with silver in their blood! These villagers are descended from Werewolf Hunters and while they do not have the skills to defend themselves, the silver within their blood will kill you if you attack them at night!

Short Wolf Knowledge – In addition to the above knowledge your pack has sniffed around the village and discovered that there are two village masons and that there are no villagers with protection or seer abilities such as a baner or seer.

Susceptible Sleeper:
Susceptible Sleeper – You are a normal villager… almost. You are unaware of what your blood hungers for, but you subconsciously suspect that the life of a werewolf is a glorious one, or at least a fun one. You have no abilities, but if attacked at night you will confront your werewolf foe and ask him to help you. Instead of killing you outright you will be taken to his lair where the pack will bite and turn you.

You may boldly proclaim to the village that you are willing to turn if you like, but I doubt they would take your words with pleasure. If you proclaim your willingness to turn in attempt to suicide the village will instantly lynch you and continue with the day or night.

Win Condition – You win with the town when all the werewolves are dead and count towards the village. If you are naturally lynched as a sleeper without revealing your desire to turn you will still win or lose with the town. If you are attacked at night and turned you will receive a new role PM with updated abilities and win conditions.

Silver-Blooded Villager:
Silver-Blooded Villager – You are a normal villager… almost. You are unaware of what is stirring within you, but the sight of the Werewolf has caused your blood to warm. Unknown to you, your ancestors successfully mixed silver into their bloodline and the trait has been passed down to you. You have no abilities, but if you are attacked by a wolf they will be poisoned and die a horrible death. Unfortunately your silver blood will not save you from your own demise.

Because this is a trait unknown to your character, you may not claim or hint at your ability without having the curse of condition that enables your silver blood strip you of your ability in a very painful, graphic and public way. It will, however, not kill you.

Win Condition – You win with the town when all werewolves are dead and there is at least one villager alive.

Mason:
Village Mason – You are a village mason. From long ago through time your family has handed down the secrets of a secret society that now only two members of the village know about. You and your mason brother, *. You are both innocent villagers!

You can meet with your Mason brother here:
http://www.quicktopic.com/47/H/8k4tAV39WRJ5P

Win Condition: You win with the town when all werewolves are dead and there is at least one villager alive.

Also note I left the Mason quick topic link in the Mason PM if anyone's curious what Meiz and MNG talked about. MNG's last post is particularly funny... :neenernee

Gonna finish writing up comments on the setup and how everything went after dinner.
