I think that we should definitely contact them and (try to) encourage them in their efforts.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

Yeah, I think WPC has lost heart in the game. Not sure if we can help them get it back. That said, I think we should promise them a spice once they can send some dyes our way - it's the least we can do. We have more spices than we can use, it helps them and at the same time it ties them closer to us.
Furthermore, I consider that forum views should be fluid in width

I'm pretty sure that WPC is already sending us dyes for one of our resources (gems?) Not sure if it's worth our time and effort to send them another resource when they are so pitiful and we might be able to trade those spices.
This may be the weirdest place I've ever posted from, on a boat heading to Newfoundland at 5am local time.

We have four spices right now, and we send one of them to CFC, so we have two to spare. Sending one of them WPC's way ties them closer to us, and signals that we are willing to help them - we do have three times as many cities as they do, so trading more happy to them can be viewed as a fair. It's also ties into down into helping our friends, which is a good reputation to have.
So we stand to lose very little by sending spices to WPC. And on T175 we will get back the spices from CFC, and will have two to trade away again.

Not sure we should go for a pause there. Maybe send a friendly reminder about that there is only a little time left on the turn. If they want or need a pause they should make the request themselves, in the server thread.

I don't think it really matters all that much whether or not we trade spices to WPC. Go ahead and send them if the team believes that it will help. I do think that we should ask them about what the Germans are doing over on their front though, just to avoid walking blindly forward. Any information that they can send should be helpful for us. We should have about 3 more days before we get to play the next turn anyway...
I would rather not derail these threads with stuff about personal vacation; I'll put something about it up on YouTube when I get back. (Currently in Gros Morne in western Newfoundland.)
