When I saw you bringing your knights west (had full EP vision on you at the end) I thought you were not committing anything and moving to attack me. So I called that suicide run off.

Wait; you thought when I moved my entire stack on your border into Cornflakes land that my knights would then attack you??

Had zero trust towards you at the end, so yeah. The fact your stack was a turn behind mine and had taken that same awful attack angle I did, I was expecting them to turn south and hit me.

Why did you send them that way? Weren't there better stack avenues for you farther northeast? Or did Cornflakes just have a Fortress at the end?

I wanted to attack Citadel in the north, but I didn't have enough of an army up there. I thought I could along with SD, but SD and I had some confusion on that. When I saw you going in down south I was hoping his collateral was at least used up.

So I lost EP vision on the very last turn. Did you send those knights in against Money then? I was really hoping they would have been used in the north because my hope was my stack against Money would draw the pikes away and then you and Superdeath attacking in the north would draw enough away that I could slip my knights by. A foolhardy plan, but I didn't see any way of cracking Money with what I had.

One real difficulty with sequential is we were both stuck following the lead of the player ahead of us in turn order.

I don't think you would have seen them even with EP vision on the hill they are were on. Yes I did. I was also hoping SD and I would attack in the north. I think there if SD had been following me there wouldn't have been confusion because he could see where I had moved in. Instead of me hoping he understood and moved in first.

I learned in my first attempt to attack with Superdeath that turn order dictated we had to follow him. I lost my first mounted stack trying to do my own thing and then getting my units isolated. Downside of sequential and where everybody fell in turn order

The burning question I’ve had since T0: how did you pass on pairing PHI with America?

Complete misunderstanding at how much maintenance was going to hurt. But PHI/ORG on this map? Oh my goodness now I wish I had.

Turns out Clank! was very well-named:

Cornflakes sends me a demand to declare war on Mjmd and then shows up with his stack.  Is this him saying I must declare war on Mjmd or he will attack me?  But then if I accept what is keeping Cornflakes to hold up any bargain that he won't attack me and send me to the wrong end of the 2-vs-1.

Sadly I'm just a few turns away from getting the needed units in place for this stack:  even with 2 axes, a spear, and walls I would feel reasonably comfortable in telling him to suck eggs and that he can waste his troops against my walls if he so chooses.  Instead I must scramble:  Libertalia no longer gets its granary and instead is forced to start another spear.  We move up the axe from Libertalia.  We make some desperate diplo pleas to try to muddy the waters and buy time:

To Cornflakes:

I could have captured Clank here and chose not to. The message that I intended to convey was “I see MJMD as a threat, I’m foregoing this opportunity and ceding this territory in hopes of future cooperation vs. MJMD.”

Did this show of force and backing off to spare the city have any influence at all in the future diplomacy? It looks like you got the message later when I again showed my stack that ultimately pressured MJMD during his golden age when I also sent my chariot stack through SD’s land. (But it doesn’t look like you realized that my chariot stack could have already razed your city from the fog using Engineering roads, but chose not to and stopped on the border ask for OB instead).

Here I did not get that message correctly. I felt you were fishing for targets of opportunity and was trying to present you with another one. If you meant something else it was missed.

I don't believe I realized you had Engineering at that time of the chariot stack. Remember that I was very backwards at this point, having tanked my economy to capture Bing. I didn't even have Machinery so I could not see who had Engineering on F6. So I don't remember that possibility even crossing my mind with those chariots.
