Thanks for the thorough answer, Sandover. As always, your thought process is just as interesting as your play.

I really want to pull my stack of 50 Knights away from Thespis Hill so I decided to do this;
Quote:Yours Holyness,
I wish to permanently demilitarize our border region. I realise your lack of trust in me is a fundamental problem, but maybe if the price is right..? I've already boosted your income by spreading Buddhism and now have 550 or so AP-votes that I'm sure you would find useful in a future victory election. They're all yours if we can establish a lasting peace between our nations. Interested?

But... How many votes are required for a diplo win?

Less than mine and his put together. Rome doesn't have a buddhist city though, so he would have to solve that somehow to win.

Quote:Pharaoh Sandover,
After your last message, in which you clearly indicated that you would attack Celtica were it to become feasible, hopefully you will understand why I'm cautious about your most recent proposal. I have no desire to go to war at this point, but as long as a huge Egyptian army is stationed near Samba Station, I need to be prepared for one.
I would propose the following:
*We agree to a 10-turn NAP which, unless canceled by either side, auto-renews for 5-turn periods afterwards. When it is cancelled, there will be a 5-turn cooldown period in which neither side can declare war on the other.
*For the duration of the NAP, you will give me your vote if any AP-election rounds come up. I have no desire to cheese a diplomatic AP-victory, but the seat of Buddhism should remain in Bibracte. Any other votes you can choose as you prefer.
If we can agree to this, we can then start moving forces away from our shared border.

I'll take it. More than 100 units have been dispatched away from the area around Thespis Hill. A garrison of 20 or so will remain in the city.

Now that was a surprise. Is Moogle planning to annex Angkor Thom? GES is rushing more units east so that actually makes sense.
No turn update today. Got the save the rather late.
Is Amelia posting our email exchanges in the Roman thread? If not, let me know, and I will make it available in here.

Amelia hasn't posted much of your communication in her thread, and I'm curious what's going on in Egypt after 2 weeks of radio silence. Admittedly, I'm more curious about what you're up to than what you and Amelia are chatting about, but we'll take what we can get.

We've played like 1 turn for the last one and a half week, so you haven't missed much. I'll do an email dump sometimes next week when I'm back home from my parents house, as well as some regular updates.

Just in case someone missed it. The game has been held up for weeks now (lets not point fingers - I'm certain whoever is responsible didn't do it on purpose) so you've not missed anything. Play will be resumed next week.
