[PB25-SPOILERS] The Lunacy of the Reign of HAK Continues

LOL.
Ok...new turn is up....time to log in and get us 3 more cities!!!!!

Ok, first I wasn't paying attention a couple turns ago but Donovan got the HG and this turn someone already reached CoL and STOLE my religion. frown

Then here's the demos:

And here's the overview of the cities:

1. I just had a worker board the galley, so it will go over to the SE island city (Belligerent) to put a chop into the Lighthouse so it can be whipped quicker.
2. Bedazzled (the stone city) is working one of the Crabs while it's building it's LH and will whip it as soon as it can.
3. Happy's borders will expand in 5 turns and then Ranting can work those Sheep.
4. Using overflow from whipping out the Granary in Anxious, it will 1-turn a Walls. That should help keep Joey away over there. Then I'll start the city on I guess just military, though considering doing a barracks just for something to help with the culture there. But I'm open to thoughts on what to do there. No real use making a Lighthouse since it only has 1 coast tile available to it due to Joey's culture in the north.

Everything else is just chugging along. If you want any specific updates on anything else or any other city, let me know.

It was Elkad that got Confucianism, and it the holy city is right on the border with Donovan and GJ. Could make things interesting over there....

And here are this turn's demos:

Peace Treaty with GJ ends in like 3 turns....you think he'll keep his cool and not attack me? I sure hope so, as that'll only just hurt us both.

Next turn is up so here's our demos. Research turned on. We're getting KTB from Comm, GJ, & Elkad. Grimace, retep, & Borsche do not yet have Currency. I'm hopeful that on the 3rd turn whatever I end up having to adjust the slider to will be enough to get us the tech.

Part of the reason for our crappy CY is because I had to keep Hungry from growing. So right for this turn anyway it is not working the Clam or Sheep. Instead it is working the 3 Lake tiles and 2 Scientists. This will start building up the GS pool in that city, plus it's giving a nice research boost for Currency. I'll make sure that city doesn't pop a GP before Happy, since we want to run the Merchants after we can build a Market in that city to hopefully get a GM as our first GP. The city is still set to grow in 2 turns if I leave it like that, so not sure what I'm going to do next turn. Either let it grow into unhappy (and then 2-pop whip something) or use the mines to keep it from growing...or just turn on the Avoid Growth button. But I don't think it will hurt anything to let it grow and have an unhappy citizen. We'll have our Whales in I believe 7 turns.

And the stupidly powerful Commodore gets even more powerful.

He now also has the Colossus. A great wonder for this map and all it's coastlines.

When our peace ends, I could end up getting screwed by GJ trying to take advantage of me again. On Stone island, I have a Worker/Axe about to start chopping a forest on his border. And I have a Worker/Axe about to start chopping the last forest at Anxious on his border. Though over there I'll be able to move a Chariot onto that tile as well as slightly added defense against him just throwing another Chariot at the Axe. But I did just move that Chariot onto the southern hill to take a peak into his city and in the city right now he has just the 3 Archers and 1 Axe. So hopefully he's planning to keep our peace going. But one never knows with him. *shrug*

The settler out of Sleepy is done and is on the move down to the final choke point in the SW. I was almost tempted to have it grab the eastern side of the island in the SE, but realized I wouldn't be able to defend 2 cities on that island (plus defend Sore) yet. Need more military before I can do so. So we'll just have to wait and see if Grimace now tries to stick a city on the eastern shore now that he's seen me get one on the nw coast.

So the next turn started just before I was headed to bed. Logged in, noticed the research bar was very close to the end...played around with cities for a bit and got it so I'm actually getting Currency end of this turn. Next turn I'll 2-pop whip a Walls in Hungry, 1-pop whip a Barracks in Happy, and whip the Barracks in Sleepy. Overflow from all 3 will go into Markets.

And at least for this turn....#1 in GNP!!! smile

As I posted in the tech thread, I'll be going on vacation for a bit over a week this coming Thursday. I still want to make an attempt to rebuild the sandbox and will try to do so over the next couple days. That way if you want to help with some of the planning for the week I'm away you can. In either case I won't have time for detailed analysis, reviewing stuff on the googledoc, or taking and posting many screenshots. So any analysis or planning you can help with for the time from 5/22-5/31 would be useful. Anyway, just wanted to let you know I'll be away and mostly unavailable for detailed discussions, etc.

Some good news this turn....
The barb city grew finally, and we took it. It is now named Overworked.

Next turn we found the other chokepoint city as the Settler is now on that tile with the Chariot.

Demo's as usual:

Also when I logged in, I had an Open Borders request from retep....he's the first of our neighbors to research Alpha. I'm really hoping he did not send OB request to Commodore & Grimace. I'll doublecheck that next turn after they've both played. But as you can see it gave a nice boost to the trade routes in a couple of our cities:

Bedazzled now more than pays for itself. smile

I need to save gold for 3 turns, and then 3 turns after that we'll have Construction. So I'll be able to build some Catapults & WE's to shore up our defenses while we get everything else in place. Want to put up enough discouragement to keep Grimace from trying to throw some Gallic's at us and to discourage Commodore from choosing us as his first Knight target. I have Walls finishing in Hungry so that'll also help up there. I have a Market starting in Stressed this turn and next turn will have Markets starting in Sleepy, Hungry, & Happy.

Decided to log back in to see if the OB requests from retep went to either of the other two. Looks like he now has OB with Grimace as well, but he at least does not appear to have sent it to Commodore.
Also noticed that we have reached T100. That went somewhat quick. Anyway, since I have a lot of builds completing this turn and cities growing this turn, etc, I'll wait until next turn to post an overview of the empire.
But here's all the stuff completing:

Stressed & Anxious are the two cities growing this turn. And next turn the Lighthouse in Bedazzled gets chopped out.

Speaking of Anxious, I keep waffling back and forth on what to build there. Currently putting hammers into a Spear mostly in case GJ decides to be a pain and attack me....this way I can whip out a Spear if need be. Also have some hammers in an Axe if that needs to be whipped. Also have hammers in a Barracks, I think. smile

And the large update continues with this turn....lots of screenshots:
First up here is an overview of the entire Empire in all it's....um....glory?

Now for all demos and all the graphs:

We met Gavagai this turn while exploring the east coast of the island. Below is the island. I'm currently inclined to settle on that hill if I can eventually get a settler over there before Grimace. Though I'm also considering the spot 1N of it.

Here is what all the cities are doing now that we can start Markets. Right now for some of these cities they'll switch back to military next turn, with overflow going into the Markets (Happy being the one to keep doing it's market until it's done). And some of the other cities when I have a chop available, it may go into a market.

Donovan is the only one I have not met yet. And as you can see, retep did OB with Grimace, Gavagai, and myself.

That's it for now. Got some stuff to do this morning.

As expected, Borsche will get that hill spot south of Anxious...this turn:

This turn GJ got a Great Scientist and Commodore got a Great Prophet.
I whipped the Market in Happy, as I want to get those merchant specialists going asap. Hungry & Sleepy will each get their Market in 4 turns when they also grow (both are at happy cap right now).

We're at least keeping somewhat current in Power with GJ & Grimace. And next turn we get another Archer and another Axe, with another Archer the turn after that:
