[SPOILER] Tarmon Gai'don

Love it!

Oof Gira was pretty well prepared too. A lot of spears.

Two more attacked the captured city and killed two injured numids. A fresh one covered them.
On my turn, I traded 2 numids to kill the stack of 3 spears.

I have 6 numids left from the initial attack and they all need healing. I think Gira just whipped another 3 spears this turn.
I'm building more numids, but it doesn't look like I'll be able to wipe him out. I'll see if I can make any more progress.

I tried to kill his injured spear with mine, but lost the roll. Then I tried to clean up with a numid, lost again but withdrew. On third try I managed to kill it and retreated back to Beshbalik.
I got a GG which I used half for a chariot medic and half for a numid in capital. I attached to the chariot though which was bad because GG's get extra promotion options.
Gira has a stack of spear/axe/chariot 2N of Beshbalik. I still have a full HP archer, but losing the spear hurts.

alright

I have to give credit to my neighbors. They both did everything right. Anticipated the attack, built up defenses, and tried to enforce peace to drive me to attack the other.

Gira killed the archer and got to attack my numids. I lost 3 units he lost 2 in that trade.

He has two low HP spears but I can't do anything to kill them.
I moved in reinforcements, gonna try to hold in the city and heal up. It's not a great plan, but it's better than the alternatives.
I sent in a peace offer too.

Caught them napping, I think:

I took a look with the chariot first to discover the city was empty and size 1. The spear cannot reinforce it due to the river. He might have a 2nd worker in range to make a new road though.
I sacrificed a Numid to cut the road 1NE of Beshbalik so his stack can't raze my city in retaliation. Next turn I will add an axe, which will make it tougher to attack with spears.

Well then, from CivStats it seems he managed to capture a city of mine. I wonder what happened. Still waiting for him to end turn.

He managed to rebuild the road and capture the city, and even got to kill the axe behind it with a chariot :<
We lost 8 units and he lost 5 in that scramble.
Also the empty city now has two defenders. I only had 25% chances against the full health spear, so I didn't risk it.

If only I was 1 tile closer or had both workers in place to road and I would have had a shot at razing Beshbalik. It only had 2 chariots defending.
Then again, I did attack the city with 1 numid and it lost against a chariot, so RNG would have screwed up that plan.

I sent this guy deep for a hail mary. I should have sent both actually. I don't think I can take back Beshbalik now, but I didn't have vision on his stack at the time.
Likely accepting peace next turn if he offers again. Unless the hail mary numid can raze his capital, but it's a long shot. I already shifted builds to eco some turns ago.
