Nice, I visited Singapore several times when my brother was living there a few years ago and took the MRT around, and I remember all of those places. And all the delicious food at the hawker centers!

Was Yishun ever threatened?

Ah ok, if we click the image, we only get a large blurry version, but there is a small download-icon which points to the original size :top:
Quote:most aggressive neighborhood in Singaporewell... how bad is that, like people yelling at each other and someone leaves litter at the street? But the Indian (Piccadilly) also settled very aggressively towards me.. (and him and Gavagai are the clear favorites on our island by now) - I had to grab some land, and Yishun was the only place I could settle that is semi-easily defendable as well (November 16th, 2023, 05:57)GT Wrote:Quote: well... how bad is that, like people yelling at each other and someone leaves litter at the street?https://www.reddit.com/r/askSingapore/co...ually_bad/ (November 16th, 2023, 03:28)Kaiser Wrote: any tips for a 2 day layover in Singapore in July?Bring me 2 litres of beer and you can stay in my guestroom :D Somehow I messed up the quotes.. will repair later
Discovered city ruins (unfortunately, only after our scout already passed by some turns, as he's back towards the first ship soon to be ready for sailing out..) North of Piccadilly.
So I guess there was an early war - and most probably Piccadilly gained some really nice area from a - so far unknown - player there. I say unknown, because Gavagai, from where I don't know yet where he's coming from (Suspect he's in the West, farther west than scooter), is so much ahead in score it couldn't really have been him having been hit by an early war and losing at least a city. If it was Dreylin (who is eliminated), Piccadilly would have MASSIVE lands to expand into. Need to go through Picca/Drey's scores in PBSpy sometime the next days to check abou that.. been a bit busy recently.. In short, while my position seems decent vs. scooter and xist, it's bad vs. Piccadilly (better land) - Picca doesn't have a huge military, but I don't fancy (another) war at all. I'll try to build up my land as much as possible, not much more I can do right now - and hope for an opportunity to strike sometime in the future once all land has been settled, and I've somewhat improved my land. That's still some 30 turns or so out.. (I am used to play PBs on higher difficulty, and also play Single Player usually two levels above - not used to such fast expansion)
So, Sailing is researched, now I'll need to save up quite a few turns, but then the question will be:
Calendar, Construction, Currency? Which of the 3 C's shall it be? Calendar: Quite a few ressources I can build orchards on. Need for sure! I'm not massively in yet, so I could wait for it a bit. Construction: THE tech if you want to make those funny catapults for an early war that isn't depending on mass-axes only. On top of it, any attacker will think twice if you have some catapults lined up. Currency: Since I've trade routes to most Indian cities already, I'd "only" gain about 8 Gold per turn from it. But makes every new city cheaper, too. And it's an instant economical bonus vs. Calendar, which takes a while for the improvements to build (and the have jungle on them, anyway..) - and once I've got my first island city, I'll have one 2 Gold/Turn route on every city, so I'll make 4 Gold/turn in every city from trade. Alternative would be metal casting.. I'll need a few turns to save up anyway, so I'll be able to decide where we go in a few turns.. I'm leaning towards currency for the moment.. On other news, for some reason, finally trading routes to India popped up. I had ressource trade with him for many turns already, but only this turn, trading routes came online. Not sure why, exactly. I don't know the game mechanics that well, always thought, trading routes and open borders mean trading routes become possible. OR, maybe I had trading routes all the time but they've only became more profitable now due to long-standing peace. Anyway, this gives 6 Gold more per turn, and makes every new city a bit more affordable. With a galley, I'll be able to explore/settle the Southern islands, and hopefully more. Pretty much on growing mode right now. Watching my neighboors closely, always able to whip some units should it be needed (And building some axes/impis anyway, besides that, it's settlers, workers, and building granaries everywhere too, so whip's can be re-populated quickly. Libraries, despite being cheap (50% off) aren't yet the highest priority, as a creative leader I get free culture and I do NOT want to push borders too aggressively towards the 3 empires around me. At least not yet :D So in short, trying to keep the military balance while economically pushing forward, and seeing any chance to grab on the way..
Assuming this is for the galley you were talking about?
I would probably name it "Galley Ragamuffin". |
