Thanks, Mist.
I don't know why I thought that the capital was by the river...

Actually, you'd just need Fishing.
Edited: Well, and roads towards the rivers ofcourse!

Have you fishing? If so yes, if no (IIRC) you'll have to research it.
Wow: a whole day and a half out. Sorry about that.

I've made some tests. I don't need fishing, I just need to road both cities to the river. I've already played turn 16 (I'll post the report together with turn 17, since nothing happened ) and I started roading already...

Fishing is only required to establish foreign trade. I mentioned Sailing, because that would be necessary without extra road by the capital.

I'm actually thinking of changing my tech path.
I wanted to go Agri -> Calendar than straight to BW (with AC and exploration thrown in between)...
Well, I realizaed that I won't have anything to build in the cities if I go with this path. I don't want to build a lot of warriors, since I don't need them (one of the advantages of playing the barbs) and they'll eat my tech with maintenance...
So, maybe I'll go to Mysticism after calendar. Mysticism will help my research (2 elder councils + 2 scientists), will give me a nice civic and things to build (elder council and pagan temple).
If I go this way, I'll probably revolt to God King + Pacifism once Myst is in, build a quick elder council in the capital (with the nice production of the horse tile) followed by a pagan temple and run a scientist and a priest (boosted by pacifism).
This way, I'll have a quick Great Person. If it's a scientist -> academy in capital. If it is a priest -> bulb Way of the Earthmother (mining will probably be teched by then).
I could make some test games, but I don't have the time to do it. I'll have to trust my gut feeling. Even though Rantine will arrive later, my situation will be better with the second tech path (or so I hope).
Let's not forget that two of the cities that I can convert have a gem tile, which will be a very nice boost for my commerce when I get them online...
I'm nor good in taking decisions, as you can see :neenernee

Turn 16-17:
Nothing too big happened. No events, no huts, no lairs... Just exploring and moving some units...
I changed the tiles the capital is working to enphasize commerce. The worker would be ready in 2 turns either way. I'm priritizing commerce since I don't have anything useful to build right now...
Before Micro:
After Micro:
I decided to go AC -> Mysticism after calendar. I'll build a pagan temple (60 hammers, but, with the spiritual 100% bonus, plus GK 50%, just working the horses + center tile hammer + palace hammer, it'll be ready in 4 turns -> 4+1+1 + 150% = 15 hpt) and start working a priest specialist (17 turns to GP with pacifism), than I'll build an Elder Council (40 hammers IIRC, ~5 turns to complete).
And here's the thing: I can run the priest for 17 turns to ensure I'll get Way of the Earthmother or I can run the scientist too when the council is ready, getting a GP in 10 turns, but risking a GSci. Of course, a Gsci wouldn't be bad, since I could make an academy at the capital, but the holy shrine is nice too...
The second city will build a Elder council first so we can get the research bonus and run a scientist too.
Then, I'll go to BW with my pumped up research!
What do you guys think about it?? Don't forget that with calendar, my commerce will be way better (working the rice, the cotton, the pasture and the dyes, I'll have 13 commerce + 8 from the palace = 22 just in the capital... way better than currently 11 commerce)... Even the road network will increase my commerce in something like 3/4 turns...
Exploration:
If I'm lucky, no bear will be created there until I can destroy the den... It'll gice me some gold too!
Empire:
Capital's worker is done... I'll have to think about what I'm going to do with it first, farm the rice or build a road... I'll probably farm the rice, build the road, pasture the horses, plantation the dye and plantation the cotton...
After that, who knows?

Turn 18-19:
Turn 19 started with an event:
So, that made me change my science slider to a have a profit. Now that I'm close to 50 gold, it's worth getting there to avoid losing a GPro if the opportunity arrives.
Calendar will take a bit longer to come by (6 -> 8 turns). But the workers will be busy building other improvements for the next few turns (and the capital pop growth will speed things up further).
Maybe this will make getting the 50 gold easier:
TWo things about the screenshot. The bear den below the warrior (i'll have to pillage ir manually, normally you destroy it just by getting in the same tile) and the guardian of pristine pass...
If I remember correctly, the guardian generates three no HN barbs, so I'll free the gargoyles.
Both city ended their productions and I started granaries. It's the best building I can build right now (it gains the expandive bonus) and I don't want more units, since I'm already paying maintenance for them (1 gold since the last warrior). I'm kind of hoping that one of them dies Then I won't have to delete it myself.
Capital's border expanded when I ended the turn:
I have a few happy resources inside my borders, so I'll be able to grow my cities for quite a bit. My capital is very nice, good production, a lot of river tiles, good commerce. I'm pretty happy about it.
