[SPOILERS - PBEM16] Dazedroyalty - Gilgamesh of Babylon

Well, looking at the picture a post or two later, I see one tile that's ocean inside your borders, so that fits with 20 land tiles out of 21 total. I do know that ocean doesn't count. So it looks like the city center must count.

Yup, that's right. You have 20000 of land area because you have an ocean tile inside your borders.

City centre tile is counted. You have 21 tiles under your borders but 1 is coastal, therefore you have 20 land tiles.

Okay, it's a slow morning at work and I'm trying to analyze demos more in depth. One, I might find something interesting. Even more importantly, though, I learn by doing so hopefully I will catch all these silly mistakes and get better at reading things. So far, I've only analyzed turn 0 but already some things don't make sense to me.

For T0, this information is based on everyone having played the turn except Scooter who goes after me. I also know that Krill moved his settler and did not found on T0 meaning that the Averages are basically for just three civs: me, mh, and Serdoa.

GNP from Turn 0
18- me. I benefit from Creative but am working a 0 gold tile (plains forest) to speed along the first worker before my borders expand and I can work the corn.

19 - This must be mh because he is also creative and serdoa would have to be working a 3g tile to get 19, but that's not possible unless he works a coast/lake but he doesn't start with Fishing. So mh is working a 1g tile.

Those two are obvious. What's weird is that the "Rival Worst" is 1 not 0. I assume that means that the free beaker is counted even before having a city. In which case, Krill and Scooter both have a GNP of 1.

Now, the funky part is that the "Rival Average" is 9. That would mean that the total GNP of the world is about 45. Subtracting my 18, mh's 19, and 1 each for Krill/Scooter, that leaves Serdoa with 7 which is not possible. Therefore, there must be a rounding error going on. Does anyone know if Demo's are ALWAYS rounded down? Do they ever round up? It obviously makes a difference in determining what Serdoa is actually working. If it is always rounded down, total GNP can be as high as 49. If it rounds up, then total GNP can't be more than 47. I'm going to assume always rounding down and that leaves Serdoa with GNP of 10. (49-19-18-1-1=10)

Land Area from T0

I know I have 9000. The best rival is 8000. Worst is obviously 0 (scooter and Krill). "Average" is 3750. 3750*5=18750. In total land area. 18750 - 9000 - 8000 = 1750. 1750 for the third player who is settled? That just doesn't seem possible.! How in the world does that work? It doesn't make sense as a rounding thing because 3750 is a pretty specific number. If that was just 4000 it would go up to 20000 total which would still only leave 3000 for the third player.

It T-Hawk ded lurking Krill in this game? If not... HELP! smile

4 rivals not 5.

Ah ha! So it doen't include my numbers? That makes more sense! I was thinking world wide average, but it is called "Rival Average." See, these are the things I never really thought about before.

Okay, I've decided to move this into my C&D spreadsheet to work stuff out (and de-clog this thread). I'll try to only post C&D info when it's significant or I can't explain it. For example, mh and Serdoa both definitely have coastal capitals because their land numbers are 8000 and 7000 respectively.

As a reminder, you can check out the spreadsheet anytime here. EDIT: Info is divided between two tabs.
