[SPOILERS] mostly_harmless plays Sury of Greece

Hey,

The war against me was very well played. You're right, the great people in the border city were going to start a golden age as soon as the 3rd one popped, and I was going to immediately start a military build-up. Putting them into that insecure city was a huge mistake which comes from MP inexperience

Xian was the main production city of the empire. I was not defending against you in particular, I was defending the most important city of the empire. This is why I didn't accept peace treaties which included giving up Xian. After it has fallen, the game was lost, so there was no reason to accept any peace treaties (unless they included 4 techs, as Krill's one did)

Good luck for the rest of the game!

Last turn I lost a half-core city to Krill. but I managed to strike back a bit killing some units of his. I came out on top hammer wise with a 2:1 ratio. Have to look at the other turns as well.

Dazed joined the war but I fear he is too weak to sustain the pressure on Krill. I can already see what Krill moves towards Dazed's territory and its not pretty. But it gives me a break to maybe to some stuff.

Krill lost one of his half-core cities (Curio bay) to Dazed. Nice work from Dazed there.
On my front he did not do too much.
In return I shot down 3 fighters and sunk one destroyer and bombed some improvements. PBEM1 lessons learnt.

Bloodiest turn (for Krill) yet, since the redeclaration of war.
Took out two of his cities and shot down and destroyed on ground a lot of aircraft (7 fighters & 1 bomber & 1 airship).
Krill's losses to me this turn come up to almost 2000 hammers, while I lost less than 400.
In the 5 turns we are fighting the balance comes up to ~4600hammers losses for Krill vs. ~1900hammers losses for me. This only includes modern units.
He took three cities worth 29 pop, while I took 2 cities worth 25 pop.

I hope Dazed is doing well, seeing that Krill is already recapturing those cities that Dazed took.

1845AD:
Krill took 4 of Dazed's cities. Dazed re-took 2 of them straight away.
Krill did nothing to me, except to move two transports into my waters to pillage and threaten a couple of cities.
I dispatched two destroyers to sink them. Turned out they were empty.

I also razed Nanjing, a city of size 12. Killing an artillery, a transport, a fighter and a battleship in the operation. Suicided my tank, though.

With the capture of Ohaku last turn, one of Krill's inner seas is wide open to my navy. He realized that and reshuffled a lot of units to defend his inner core. He will have to do that for another two cities (altogether 5) that my transports are threatening.

In the skies I continue to rely on my C2 & C3 fighters to bring down Krill's interceptors. Works quite well, another 5 shot down this turn and only lost one and some wounded.

Congrats on the win! Can you tell, did my 3 GPs in the same border city (I know it was a very bad mistake) trigger your attack, or was it planned for that turn in any case?

Thanks.
The attack was planned for that turn since your defensive units were all low-tech and I thought your Cav was all in TT lands. I was hoping that you wouldn't spot my troop movements and would leave the 2GP in there. The third was a bonus, really.
