[SPOILER] Waterbat spends '104 Days of Summer Vacation'

Thought your c&d said Rome was working river grass..which tells me they aren't going worker first. They are all pretty much worker, warrior then most just keep building warriors while growing. Second workers tends to slow things down too much to pay off before the first settler.

@Sian - I almost see it now,

so our GNP = beakers + culture + EP + gpt + bonus research

10 (when working the default riverside G tile, 9 working the PF) beakers
4 culture
4 EP
0 gpt (running 100% sci)
= 18 (when researching agriculture)

But our GNP shows 19.

If I switch to BW, we get 2 more GNP to get to 21 (i assume that its 25% added to research but rounded down here)

Do you have a link that shows what techs get research bonuses, uh, bonii?

semi related question:
Should we be doing binary research right from the beginning?

Yes, I'm sorry, Rome did move. Unsurprisingly I was confused smile

maybe the GNP numbers could help us figure out if it is definitely them that is working the FP or riverside grass. Assuming very similar starts, SOMEONE has to be working the riverside grass and it would make sense that the EXP guys are working the PF tiles.

SO..... yes, maybe Rome is trying to grow their city and working on a warrior or.... a monument?

Perhaps one of the EXP guys instead is working the riverside grass and Rome is using the PF to get a quick warrior (3t!)

I'm never going to be the guy who declares exactly what the opps are doing out in the fog of war. I'm very open with my uncertainty smile

Why would anyone go monument first?

Sounds like a mechanics question soooo:

You get a bonus beaker.

So the breakdown is as follows:

1 free beaker
8 from palace
1 from city square
4 culture
4 ep
1 from working a riverside grass

= 19

when you switch to BW there is a pre-req bonus of 0.2 to your beakers which = rounddown((11*1.2),0)+4(ep)+4(culture) = 21

Hope this helps!

ok, so the science slider doesnt show this extra beaker? Also watching the count of beakers in my science research didn't seem to show it...

pre-edit: It does show it! 11/56 even though beaker slider says 10.

Thanks so much Square Leg! Now that you have bestowed upon me the secrets of the bonus beaker, I can only hope to one day find some other soul in search of this powerful knowledge.

real-edit: when i start putting EPs on a player (but not spending them on missions) does my GNP still reflect them?

no problem.

yes - your gnp will always include the number of ep's you make each turn, regardless of what you do with them.
