T13-14:
After the mysterious Pindicator warrior disappearance, now AT is running. He probably could have put me in a world of hurt by moving onto the plains wine, but there's no way he could have known that either. Chop finishes WB - yay for unpillageable food. My start has been a little weird due to the BW/Worker discrepancy and the harassment, but overall it's working OKish. I'm the last to hit size 2:
Not too surprising I guess. Also harassing Pindicator:
That should be sufficiently annoying. T14 and I moved like this:
Not sure what his worker did exactly. Probably 1T into something then cancel. Also, I'm following AT so he gets the idea that he really needs to leave .
The main problem is that warrior is C1. Wait, I don't remember it being C1 before. Whatever, I don't know really.

Just got around to finding this thread, loved my caricature Scooter
I especially liked:
Quote: Louis was the leader of France. That's not the same as actually picking France like I always do, but close enough. But then I saw scooter picked Gandhi and I of course strongly approve of that too.
On the whole, less subtle that your past ones, as has been already stated. Still, I was laughing a lot. Best of luck this game

Thanks Dave!
T15-16 starts with me finally learning how to farm stuff.
I suspect I'm last to that too. Still screwing around with Pindicator:
The other unit in the city is a WB, so I'm not in any real danger of losing my archer. Dumped a chop into a settler:
I'll swap back to a warrior, grow to sz3 at max food, then build a settler at sz3. Then I'll just build military and workers for a little while and hope for the best. Pindicator can't be happy right now.
Archer on that forest will be pretty hard to dislodge. Maybe I can get him to tech archer quicker than he'd like or something. I'll probably loiter around for a bit just to disrupt his plans and then run home at first sign of serious military. Overview:

I actually saw what hinaru posted via email notification. For completeness, Here it is:
Hinaru Wrote:Regarding the disappearing warrior: since Pindicator could not see AT's warrior due to the hills, couldn't he have retreated to 66 of your capital, at which point AT attacked, killed it, and promoted to C1?
I don't think this is spoilery or anything, so I don't think it needed to be deleted, FWIW.
Anyways, we probably have winner here, this seems plausible. Pindicator just up and deleting his warrior seems crazy, and AT's C1 had to come from somewhere - just should have been able to put 2 and 2 together there. Mystery solved.

T17-18 happened. The pindicator harassment is ongoing.
That's where we were. Saw the extra warrior. I don't think he could win with those 2 units, but I moved away anyways:
Ah. So on T18 I continued chasing the worker:
Gotta be annoying, but I'm forcing him to waste worker turns. I'm mostly interested in delaying the copper really. We're all going to get varying degrees of chokes to slow us down, but Pindicator will soon be my closest neighbor so it'd be nice if he could not have copper. I'm mostly going to take a page out of Dazed's book for the original game. He was to me what I am to Pindicator here. He settled for the spot I'm aiming for, quickly hooked horse, then used chariots to ensure I couldn't hook copper. This meant no spears for me, and with all the rivers to attack across in the area it meant it was extremely difficult to kill the chariots. I can use that to keep him under my thumb if I do this carefully. I don't need it to be a longterm choke, but if I can make a minimal investment to slow down the guy who will soon be my closest neighbor, it's worth it.

Turns are moving at a nice clip, we've played T19-20 today and we'll probably get in a couple more tonight at our usual pace. The continuing Pindicator story:
Ok I've forced him to build several warriors. This doesn't matter that much, but it's still notable. I also saw a Lion right on the spot I wanted to settle.
I decided to just stand there and hope the lion attacks me. I'm at 1/2XP, and it'd be super nice to get an extra promo on that archer. Also, settler is on the way in Abed:
Plan on the worker front is to pasture the cows, then right around there the settler will finish and I'll dump a chop into a worker between growing. Then I'll push out some military, a third worker, then maaaaybe Oracle if things seem stable. Not dead set on it, but it would be nice. On T20, Pindicator's worker slipped away as expected:
Probably pasturing the cows now. I got the XP I wanted with no damage taken:
Cool, that's useful.

Few pics from T21-23. I finished AH:
And whaddya know, horse showed up right where I wanted it:
Hopefully going to pick up another XP from that lion. Growing Abed right now, then I'll swap to a worker at sz4 while chopping the forest next to the capital. Then finish the barracks and the warrior and then we'll see from there. Probably another worker after that.
I'd like to land a religion in my new city. I'll probably aim for that next. Top cities shows AT just barely beat me to settling a city:
I don't think Commodore or Pindicator have settled cities yet.

T24-25 happened already today - the torrid pace continues. My settler was on the move:
My archer did get attacked by that Lion and easily won, so he got upped to 3/2XP. I then settled it next turn:
One... issue with my plan. Pindicator is Mayans, which means he has resourceless Holkans. I say this because I'm realizing what a pointless cause denying him copper is . Anyways, I'm really going to need my copper hooked after all because chariots will be of minimal use in harassing him. This is why I'm keeping both archers on this front in a more defensive manner. Pindicator poked me a bit in the thread about it being a lousy choke, but it's not really a choke. I'm playing defensive here. I don't want him sending units at me, and since I'm aiming at a religion, I'm waiting more long than normally advisable to tech Archery in a world where I'm also waiting on copper. So I really need these two archers on this front - and it's especially nice to get a promo on one. I may swap them now actually and try to get a barb promo on the other one. We'll see. Anyways, speaking of Pindicator:
Units not in there. Hopefully he's expanding the same way I did with my first city - that is - towards the horse. My capital:
This is confusing, but ok. I swapped to the FW because I'll get a chop completing it next turn. Then I'll finish the barracks quickly, THEN I'll finish the warrior. It's been sitting at 8/10h for a little while, so hopefully I can get through all this before it decays. I may lose a hammer or two, but I think it's worth it to get the promotion on the warrior. My land:
For Troy, I think I'm going to grow to sz2 on the barracks then swap to a worker, then whip it when I can. So many techs I need right now - could really use Pottery for some granaries but can only do so much at once. These early turns could be a little hairy, but if I survive them I'll be in decent shape. I really need to get lucky and land Buddhism.

You're researching Meditation on turn 25, do you really think you'll get beat to it?
You aren't playing vs ai here :>.
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.
