In short? Yuri invaded Ox here with some 30+ musketeers. Unfortunately for Yuri, Ox here was playing a reprise of PB11 where North Korea makes a crap-ton of knights...and 50+ knights, most of whom can take pinch...kind of wrecked 'em.
Yo. So after probably too much careful promotion and odds-managing to get optimal XP, Market Garden is again operational...and two great generals were added to the pile (Great Wall/Imperialistic). Rivers of blood, and for what? Net result is sound and fury, signifying nothing. The borders re-popped, but the vulnerable corner is still there.
I will grant that Yuri, if hardly gassed, at least doesn't have another army of equal size lurking out here. I killed a few more musketeers for shits and giggles, and nodded with satisfaction. Khmer lands are safeish. Kind of.
So, the question we're all asking:
What the hell is up in PBEM 51? It's always war, a game with glacial turn pace and astonishingly
Azza of all damn people in the lead. I don't know what is up in all places, but here is Khmer we observe a classic, tragic, tale as old as time. Let's take a look-see (because within the next three weeks I'm out folks).

Joao of Khmer just entered into the Industrial Era with the key tech of
Steel. The empire isn't in bad shape, but very definitely small and under-grown. The smallness is probably because Ox didn't get many of the spoils when Retep fell. The under-grown is partially due to a lack of luxuries inside the tight borders, but it looks like there are also signs of the classic Pyramids Trap; specialists worked at the expense of growth.
Here are most of the cities. Ox, don't take offense, comments are made actually pretty impressed with the quality of things considering you were rocking couple-minute turns. The capital is small, but what tiles there are, are good. My advice first of all would be to hook up the wines; a couple commerce is a small price to pay for an extra food and +1

empire-wide. The Taj Mahal was nice, I reckon...the Pyramids are still very good, Representation is huge for the happy boost and with the research of Banking will also get some pretty nice beakers.
Right next door to the capital is infra-loaded Torch. Looks like a pretty typical second city to me, claims copper and builds a few nice things (Hanging Gardens and Great Wall), then kind of languishes. Settled Great Scientist makes me scratch my head a bit, but two minute turns.
Over on the good side of Barbossa is Sealion here; nice little city man. It's actually got some good food, makes some good natural commerce (rare in the land of specialists), and can enjoy the novelty of being the Jewish Holy City. Not that a shrine happened (or had any reason to happen), but still, birthplace of the empire's faith.
Recaptured Market Garden...seems to have lost some infrastructure. Never had much food to begin with, either, so this is going to be painful to rebuild, but it is definitely work the recapture.
Probably racist White here is going to grow like a weed; only working the scientist pair now to get Banking in a good time, This is repeating a theme...quality city, smaller than should be, not near enough fellows.
Harligaveuptheme here is longing for the incoming Caste swap, you better believe she's going to get some artist love to reclaim yonder pigs. See above re:size.
A madly spinning GP roulette wheel is located in Yellow; dunno what we;ll get but he'll get a buddy to launch another golden age (after the one about to launch...)
Finally, rounding out our major cities is Angry Tom, who is angry. And also “generic city” for improvement mix.
So! That's a thumbnail sketch...this is a behind-but-winnable position, for anyone interested in a full takeover. Any takers?
