[SPOILERS] scooter and Lewwyn troll lurkers

Alright, so let's see how this snake is going:

Serdoa - Boudicea of Celts
Pindicator - Saladin of ? ON DECK
novice - Stalin of ? UP
Commodore - Lincoln of Arabia
Thoth - Frederick of Persia
Krill - Genghis of Russia

If someone wants to do analysis of who picked nicely and terribly and whatnot, go nuts. Anyway, let's check and see what civs are left:

Quote:[*] Babylon, Wheel/Agri, Garden, Bowman
[*] Japan, Fishing/Wheel, Pagoda (new), Samurai
[*] Germany, Hunting/Mining, Assembly plant, Kanone (new)
[*] America, Agri/Fishing, Mall (new), Minuteman (new)
[*] Korea - Mysticism/Mining, Seowan, Hwacha[/spoiler]

2 of these will be chosen before us. There's not really enough hammers here to justify wb-first, so fishing is slightly less cool here. Germany probably has the best techs for our start, paired with probably the worst UU/UB out of the bunch.

Commodore doesn't scare me with Lincoln of Arabia - even if we're next to him, he won't have a rushing leader or civ.

Japan or America would be OK - that lets us go worker-WB without any trouble. I think I prefer America's UU/UB combo. Grocer gives happy, and I'd rather have a mediocre Rifle UU than a mediocre Mace UU. Even if drafted rifles are no longer practically free (2 pop to draft).

We will need hunting. I think it would be good to scout 2S or 1S-1SE(orSW) and figure out if we want to settle on that plains hill 2S. Just because there's fish there doesn't mean we MUST settle our capital next to it. We can always go worker first and tech hunting if we don't have fishing. Babylon with AGR/Wheel is the most beaker for our buck and they are strong imperative techs. Germany allows us to tech BW out the gate.

I think I favor Germany or Babylon. If both those are taken I'd also be fine with America I think. The UU might be fun to try.

Really need to see what gets chosen though. And of course the wisdom of our pick is going to depend entirely on what is south of the pigs here. The Lake fish is great and all but if we can get a PH plant with grasspigs and 1 other food source I'd take that in a heartbeat and save the lake fish for a 2nd or 3rd city where I can chop out the WB.

Germany is gone now (novice grabbed it), so we wait on pindicator to pick, then see what's left. I think I want America or Babylon.

Okay, I've figured out our city naming theme. Or here's my idea anyway. City names all come from this video.

Sound good?

Yes. I don't remember how many times I've watched BigMcLargeHuge run.
