You might not have noticed them, but in case you were wondering what's up with the tiny blue portals in the Barbarian cities, the Barbs started the game with the Nexus wonder somewhere in the Black Fort (which was told to the original players when the game began). The Barbarian AI doesn't understand how to use the Obsidian Gates though.

Every dwarf knows that the real prison of Odio is in a wood just south of Chinstrap! My Drama addiction is going to need work, I can already tell, but the borders of Chinstrap here are waiting for another culture turn once I plant 4-5 more friends.

I suddenly realized Drama let me build culture, so I'm doing that. Also, suddenly: Bronze Warriors!

This is going to give me a champion axe for a ton of unhappy, isn't it? Probably not worth it.

The "do nothing" results in -2 population, I think. The other option gives you a crazed axe who's supposed to get 10 XP, but I think the XP part is bugged. You can opt for temporary happiness instead, but that never seems to be useful.
Okay, a couple things:
First of all, the changelog shows only the most recent changes. What is Council of Esus like in EitB? It seems to have synergy with what I'd like to do here: gives me a rushbuy civic (Undercouncil), some decent fast-mover options, an Archmage that would just love Earth III, and in the end a nice shiny endgame unit in the monstrous Shadow. Secondly...anyone have a dropbox link or can email me the EitB mod? I can't access the mod site from work but I was going to play over lunch if Ellimist sends it along in time.

But when they finally caught Jack... ...okay, as soon as I connect to the trade route, Chinstrap isn't much good anyway. And it isn't bugged; hello 10xp Axe! I met Sian, just as he managed to acquire one more city than me. An X format land form means we probably never will have much to do with each other. End of turn, I discovered a useless source of horse. Given mirroring...Bob, you've skunked half of us on mounts.

I'm not sure why you'd want to tech to Stirrups and build the underwhelming Boar Rider. Edit: Boar Riders replace Horsemen, not Horse Archers.
Yep...and they get a bonus against centaurs, more relevantly.
Any thoughts on Esus?

Their lack of speed would make it tough for them to run down centaurs, though. (May 30th, 2014, 09:59)Commodore Wrote: Any thoughts on Esus? Gibbon and Nox Noctis are both excellent, ROP rape is a nice threat. The spells are too expensive for regular use, but nice to have for an emergency. Lack of culture and disciples is a drawback, and probably requires having a backup religion. |
